gm made me mad years ago with a lemon sierra and bad dealers. at this point ford dealers are no better and as much as i like my 5g it has not been perfect. the gm is tempting. but it would be after a lot of shopping.

For me, it was GM interiors. They continue to have a Fisher Price design and plasticky cheapness about them that hasn't really improved. When my wife's company ordered her a new Escape XLT, they gave her a new Equinox to drive until her car was built and delivered. Ughhhhh. That Equinox felt so cheap inside! And it was the LTZ spec!

Fast forward to a couple of months and my wife is interested in a new vehicle. We went online and looked at some of the smaller Cadillac SUVs and found they took the cheap Chevy SUV's interior and just wrapped some of it in leather - and it still looks cheap!

As far as dealers are concerned - it seems most (if not all) of them suck anymore. Ughhhhh.

No doubt the Ranger Raptor interior makes the ZR2 interior look like dog shit. I was really looking forward to those raptor seats.

However between Ford's inability to get stable production after numerous years and the price tag difference, I can deal with it. The trade off is, I think the body lines on the ZR2 are superior to the new ranger, which basically just changed the front end for the new generation.

Not gonna lie. I am wishing you'd hold out for a Raptor. :(
I’m going for a Raptor. I can’t get it out of my head after test drive. Just waiting for right time to make my moves.

I came from a 2019 Colorado ZR2 to the 2021 Ranger Tremor. Between them, the ZR2 had better interior fit and finish and more standard options. The ZR2 is on my short list for what might be next, but I have to be able to sit in one first to ensure the seats are better now.

The big Plus on the ZR2 interior is while it does have the large dual screen electronics like most stuff a lot of the normal stuff is still on toggle switches and in this case primarily the front and rear locker. I don't think any reviewer online who has had their hands on the Raptor particularly cared for their setup of off-road components being accessed by a digital menu

i would not want digital menu for the off road controls. esp if they are ford style and take a few clicks and screens to get to.

Well this is surprising (in a good way), the dealership misquoted arrival time. Looks like it showed up on the transport truck 3 days earlier than anticipated. Now a days its pretty much standard to be delayed on everything from production to transit times (vehicle stuck at a railway hub for weeks).

But.... I am friggin stuck on duty this weekend. Still gonna have to wait till Monday. :(

My younger twenty years self I would do the 6 hour round trip tomorrow to go get it and then go do my 12 hour shift at work.

My current much older self knows I get cranky if I don't get my afternoon nap before returning to night watch after being off for a few days.
