So, I poked around a little too, and all I found was this door (or in your link, the midbox) was mainly on fleet vehicles? In the concept pictures for the chevy they look like they are to access the bed.
I guess it would depend on the cost, but I'd be at least interested to see it. Though that doesn't convert to demand for such a thing
It was offered on the first gen Colorado too. I knew a few satellite contractors that used them. With or without the drawers the section behind the door, front part of the bed, is separated from the rear. Think of installing a low pro toolbox that opens via the beds on the sides.Not even close to the same as the chevy. These are storage boxes not door access to the bed.
Niche for sure. But could work on a grocery getter truck car.
And executives at both Ford AND Chevy should be fired for not calling these El Caminos and Rancheros.
