It's stories like this that make me wonder how some people make through the day.

The OPs writings are like a glimpse into the mind of a schizophrenic. Like, how does this man tie his shoes and get out of the house in the morning?

It's like a drunk dude wrote a mad libs.
It comments like this that makes me realize I should stop Day drinking.

I've been in law enforcement for close to 15 years now, and I've seen it all when it comes to auto thefts/burgs. I've never heard of them stealing intakes, much less putting a rag anywhere lol..
Why on earth would I put a rag in my turbo? You’re making it seem like I’m just story telling this dead ass happened trust me I was just as confused. I didn’t even install the mods till after the turbo was replaced btw.

Ranger Pride (affectionately ? known as RP) was a polarizing person. Most tolerated or despised him, usually no middle ground. He had a dancing banana avatar so you'll see lots of banana references.
He did have an appreciation thread that has since been deleted (Google search results | 2019+ Ford Ranger and Raptor Forum (5th Generation) - Ranger5G.com ), the Googles remember...
He could be helpful at times and even entertaining, but often turned to pushing people's buttons and causing trouble. Ultimately, he pushed things too far and was banned.
You can see his posts but keep in mind those are only the ones that didn't get removed.
oooh that person didnt he get unbanned recently? i could have sworn i saw him talking recently

I don’t know what dead ass is, but you should probably have that checked out by a doctor. Doesn’t sound good.

Kind of hijacking this thread. I guess there was a Mythbusters episode that showed letting the engine idle for one minute after driving really gave the turbo a chance to cool down. that might help longevity? Thoughts?

BTW, I didn't see this episode. I was telling a co-worker about this thread before it went off the rails and he mentioned it.

Edit: don't know details about make, model of the engine tested on the episode. just curious as to what the members think about idling to cool the turbo.

The need for turbo timers has disappeared with modern water/oil cooled factory turbos.

These are not racecars. You'd probably want some idling to cool down after a thrashing run through the desert. But it's not needed for the drive to the liquor store.

Before worrying about letting the turbo cool down I'd worry about the rear brakes. Modern stability/traction controls use the rear brakes A LOT more than vehicles used to and clamping a hot pad to a hot disc with the parking brake can cause problems.

Pretty sure it was caused by all the mods...
Tbh that’s highly unlikely, the 2.3 already has had issues with the turbo. I’ll keep you updated.

Most likely means cleaning out debris in the intercooler after compressor wheel grenaded. Along with the charge air tubing on both sides. And also the air cleaner to turbo piping
Yes that’s what I meant

I've heard this too and thinking that turning off the driving aids would save my rear brakes. I kick the back end out a lot on dirt roads and I bet it's just grabbing the rear brakes the whole time. Need a switch to make them off by default.

I don't hoon the Ranger too much. But when I do I turn AdvanceTrak and traction control, and oftentimes am in Sand Mode to turn RSC off.

I saw a post here where a user who had a bull bar or something was able to get the company who makes the AutoStop Eliminator to make a similar custom module for the parking sensors. Maybe something like that could be done for the AdvanceTrak button? Although the long push requirement might throw a monkey wrench in that idea.

Also, you can't use cruise (at least not ACC) with AdvanceTrak turned off.
