That is the code mine eventually threw. By then it was pretty annoyingly bad. I'll be replacing mine again soon because I have started to feel the early symptoms again after another 23k miles. Seems like it's going to be an every 20k maintenance part for me.P139C code
Is the parts mentioned here, the main culprit?
Hopefully I don’t have this truck that long ?That is the code mine eventually threw. By then it was pretty annoyingly bad. I'll be replacing mine again soon because I have started to feel the early symptoms again after another 23k miles. Seems like it's going to be an every 20k maintenance part for me.
If...they're the new Bitcoins of tomorrow...If I can buy them for under $20 each to my door, replace every 20k, and have little to no bucking, I'm not sweating it too much.
Well at least we now know that cleaning the sensor helps - but for me - if a part is a PITA to get off- I would much rather replace it and be done with it- BUT it appears that this specific thread is driving the supply/demand up and the price of the part has gone up - just like the engine cover.Went in for an oil change and told the service manager I had a light on and gave him a description of what was going on. Now I don't know if it was my past issues or what. But, the mechanic plugged it in and pulled that P139 code.
He pulled the sensor, cleaned the hoses an put back on. He says they come loose, get clogged faster than they should, and it’s a “known” issue. Meaning ford knows and don’t give a shit?
Anyway, I felt a difference driving home. The acceleration is right now! I guess with the issues going on for so long I didn’t notice it.
All the (insert signs and symptoms) are gone.
I do feel and notice the transmission “hunting” for a gear at low speed.
Honestly, I’m torn what to do?
Tune it and see what happens with the transmission ?
Go back to ford and start a claim with it?
I just feel bad juju with this truck going on. So many ford know about the problems and doesn’t give a shit is where I’m at.
I’m going to drive it about a week and see how it does. I’m going to up my gas to 89 and see what happens
And my parts showed up today as well ?

I thought we were done with hoarding . This part failing wouldn't bother me much except Ford touted their new improved EGR system some yrs back - forgetting to mention that it's failure prone.Well at least we now know that cleaning the sensor helps - but for me - if a part is a PITA to get off- I would much rather replace it and be done with it- BUT it appears that this specific thread is driving the supply/demand up and the price of the part has gone up - just like the engine cover.
We the people of this Forum are to blame.![]()
My money on gear hunting not related to the EGR sensor...looks like it's your transmission...Went in for an oil change and told the service manager I had a light on and gave him a description of what was going on. Now I don't know if it was my past issues or what. But, the mechanic plugged it in and pulled that P139 code.
