. Well I did it again. Bought the new 6th gen. I waited until after the first year to see if there were any issues. Bought a 2024 lariat, fx4, advanced towing package with of course the 2.7 v6. It’s literally everything you could want in a ranger. It’s perfect. Rides better, all the technology, it’s fast, etc etc. if you are in the fence, just pull the trigger. Just trying to find a set of 5th gen black rims to swap mine out. Ask me questions I’ll have answers if your considering the upgrade

when i got my 2021 it was a good deal to get these trucks at MSRP.

When you shopped around, were most dealers willing to come down off MSRP and by how much?

I paid 5000 below msrp with z plan. They are needing to sell the 24’s, and its truck month so you get a 1000 rebate. I didn’t have to negotiate, just told them what I wanted to pay and supplied other listings of rangers selling. 48,169 I think was my truck price. But they tacked on window tint and bed liner for 900 more

When I bought mine in ‘21, I got it for several $1000’s below invoice. I always just pay a few hundred over dealer, but can’t always beat them out of holdback.

Are you planning to get a tune? That would be so bad ass!

Nope no tune, it doesn’t need it. 93 octane gets me 0-60 in under or right at 6 secs. It’s about as quick as the raptor and it’s faster than the raptor from 30-60
Totally agree that is entirely adequate. But the thought of being able to unleash another 50-70HP has got to be enticing, no?

Nah, I like my warranty intact, tunes are to much risk vs reward.
I would argue the risks vs. reward, and the warranty thing, but I understand. Enjoy that awesome ride.

I think the 6G I priced out on line, Ecoboost V6 - only with 4x4 of course and in Lariat trim and e-locker + full tow package (even backup assist) came in somewhere around 54K. I paid just under 35K for my 2019 Lariat 2WD that didn't come with factory tow package or the upgraded sound system so all things considered 50K is about right although the mental roadblock would be paying over 50K for a midsized truck.

As others have said, a tune would be tempting. Why bother getting a bigger motor if you didn't want the power?
