Bilstein Front Eibach Rear - Any Running It?

Have a front set of 5100s that I haven’t installed just yet and trying to decide if I should just stick with 5100 in the rear or go with Eibach non-reservoir shocks in the back.

Use case daily driver loaded with a rack and rooftop tent. Camp/wheel about twice a month. Nothing wild mostly lots of dirt roads with a few small obstacles.

Still have the stock FX4 and at almost 80k miles loaded for a weekend the rear end is very unsettled. We’re talking 3-4 bounces going over a freeway expansion joint.

I’ve heard the Eibach is a bit more compliant than the Bilstein in rear valving and that the Bilstein is better for towing/hauling than just about anything else in the entry level price range.

Anyone running the 5100 front/eibach rear setup and have any input?

Not sure what you mean by smooth body shocks. I assume a straight shock with no reservoir? I am running the Eibach Pro-truck. I don't carry much daily, but they sure settled down the rear end nicely. It's actually comfortable to drive.

Correct. Non-reservoir shocks.

I would match shocks if you can. So you have an even experience. Tons of information out there in the ether about mixing shocks.

It would be in your best interest to match the front Struts and rear Shocks. This will help ensure the best handling and safety overall.

There are a lot of people with aftermarket rears and OEM front coil overs (not struts). Ideal? No, but people are doing it and enjoying the better ride. I have Eibachs all around.

I would go 5100's in your case cause of the constant load. The rears give you the more bang for your buck. Worse case sell and switch. Installing the rears are dead simple.

I am one of those people at the moment. Fronts are on order now. Yes there is a benefit, but when going aftermarket they are designed to work together really. Different dampening rates front and back feel odd. Trust me, my truck feels odd lol.

Yep, I initially replaced the rears myself and was so happy, I had the dealer do the fronts so they could just go ahead and do the alignment. Sooooo happy with the results.

I got an Eibach in the rear and Fox 2.0 in the front with a 3.5 inch lift, just replace the UCA with ICON delta joint, so far it's smoother run, but definitely Eiback in the rear is more settled than the EOM FX4

When I got the 4 Eibachs for my 22 FX4, I installed the rear myself and waited over a week to get the fronts installed. 80% of the improvement in ride was with the rears. They certainly took out the rear bounce and the 4 improved the handling and fire road performance a lot. Normally, I would say don't mix shocks but the front to rear suspension on the Ranger is a little odd to begin with.

OK. Going 5100 in the rear as well.

1) I currently have about 1" of rake when fully loaded for a week of camping. Will the 5100 help with that at all? It's my understanding that springs support the weight and shocks only control the movement of the spring.

2) Add a leaf or new leaf packs are currently out of the question. So, Eibach 1" rear block or BDS 1" rear shackles? So, I can at least set my 5100's in the front to 1.2"
