Anyone build a cage or know where to buy one? I'm looking to buy a cage at the beginning of June to run like a 16" shock with deavers.

It looks like bajaforged has a design and it looks good! I just requested an estimate so I'll let you guys know what they say about the cage.

So I haven't heard back from bajaforged about the bedcage only a reply asking someone to respond to me and no one did lol it's ok.

So I am designing a dual spare carrier right now and I'll post about it here. I figure I'll start with that, then maybe bump stops, and eventually design my own bed cage.

I'll keep you all posted.

How does it attach to the bed or frame?
Either by bolting down plates that are attached to the end of each tube or welding it straight to the frame, if the latter then of course weld a square plate to the frame where the tube meets the frame. Could be either way. The point for me was to build a cage that had 6 attachment points where I cut out rectangles in the bed to still keep my bed and especially tailgate.

I know I'm probably missing it in your drawing but I only see 4 frame to cage connection points.

Haha no I just like the whole look and want to help the suspension in the back. I started off just wanting a bed cage that'll hold 2 spares all the way back but then I thought a fuel cell would look cool and well I already ordered the fuel cell! I'm tired of having my spares held down by straps I want to go to home Depot in my truck and not worry about it lol. I'm using lug nuts that require a key to remove the spares, no timed tire changes for me lol.

My late '80's Ranger pre-runner bed cage had mounting brackets welded to the frame, used bolts to sandwich the bed between the cage and frame... My in cab full roll cage mounted in the the same fashion to the frame....also had fabricated shock mounts that allowed me to run twin 50mm Fox shocks on all 4 corners...

Sounds like you had some fun man. That's another idea, have some mounts that stay on the frame.

As for shock mounts I added the hoop for that just in case.

I sure like the extra gas tank.
Haha yea it can be extra or remove the stock one for a 4 link.

So the bed has 58" to use. Most fuel cells were 24 inches long which left 34" left for tires. So I found one fuel cell that was 20 inches long that had a sending unit that matched our ohm range, which I only knew thanks to this forum. So a 20"Lx30"Wx10"H fuel cell left me 38 inches in the bed. Enough room to fit the 315/75r16 I eventually want.
