Beating other trucks from the line

Today I went head to head between some reds on a country road with a 2019 Explorer ST, which makes 400HP and 412lb ft.

My Ranger has a 93 Oct. Livernois Tune, CAI, Cat-back, down-pipe, and charge-pipes.

The Ranger and ST stayed neck and neck the whole time before I let off first to avoid getting too crazy, around 90mph.

Super impressed that with modest bolt ons and a tune, this Ranger absolutely gave that twin-turbo V6 a total run for its money.

wow...I never had a problem when I was there but it was ages ago an up in Pensacola...not real Florida.

I was a gearhead in high school and a while after. I've had '67, '68 and '69 Camaros, a Plymouth Fury Highway Patrol car, a big block Nova, a Cosworth Vega, a Javelin, a short bodied AMX, two Corvettes and a Fiero (don't laugh-it outcornered every other car I've owned) and none of them would have beaten my SuperCab Ranger. That innocent-looking little truck is seriously quick.

I used to live in L.A. (Lower Alabama) Fort Walton Beach, then Panama City Beach, and I loved it. Used to call it the Redneck Riviera. Living now in South Florida and can’t wait to get out and go back.

Magazine said supercab 2wd will run 14s in the quarter mile . Believe it this thing beats my old 69 Z 28 and my present 66 stang with ease . Dusted off a subaru noise nitwit with ease but did not have the heart to let him see me laughing . The Rangers will be known as a muscle truck .

One of the guys here tuned his and ran a 13.2 1/4 mile saying he's going sub 13 after more massaging.
Thats faster than my 2019 Rabbit GTI

My nephew just picked up a 03 Lightening...I've always liked those trucks....I did challenge him to race but don't think it'll ever happen since he lives a thousand miles away.

The Ranger does very well in its class, but for a muscle truck, my vote is for the F-150 Ecoboost with the 3.5v6.

You don't need a V6 F150 to have fun with a Ford. To your Ranger, just add Ford's exhaust, a Roush intake unit, and Ford's Performance Package. When you get done, you'll not only run away from the aforementioned, but all but the Raptor F150! Great fun, but you'll need tired before you know it!
