Well as of this morning , its back to good , as soon as I bring it back to sport , it disengages... Not sure why it went off the rails yesterday... Ill probably get a damn nitelight or an eliminator... If you brake just right you can control it a little....kinda... I hate the damn thing honestly... Default should be OFF Mr. Ford ...
There is an easy fix If you hate it that much. Don’t blame Ford, they have to play with the feds.

Im not sure the "feds" made ford add this ridiculous feature , if they did force them , they should have fought harder ... Im forgetful , no way ill remember to turn it off each time ... Forcing me to use the damn thing at least once till I realize its "on" is crap... Probably just me , I guess most people love it as I see no other threads on it so I guess im all alone...again...

Since you just joined, welcome. If you didn't find any threads on this you obviously didn’t search real well. The subject of ASS was been discussed to death on here. Most of us are numb to it. I don’t think anyone loves it. Some tolerate it the rest have disabled it in one of the many ways to do it. I personally have mine turned off in Forscan, and never think about it.

Another minor little thing with these trucks that too many people make a big deal out of. Using words like ridiculous, hate, and forced to comply. With several easy fixes available, why get your panties in a wad? I have more important things to waste my energy on.

nope , not alone. hated it. I went the Autostop Eliminator route with the dongle that goes inline with the switch. I bought it before I heard of the nightlight trick. However I am very happy with the Autostop unit. it allows the switch to work as you would have hoped from the factory. off is off until I turn it on. Which I havent done since I installed the device.

Yes its a costly way to disable ASS, but its out of sight and out of mind.

The "no other threads about it " was sarcasm ..... It is BY FAR my main grip about this truck... NO TRUCK Should EVER have an auto start stop start again and stop ad nausium that comes ON by default... Possible some cars .... Maybe the Maverick ...... I could be wrong though...

So you think it’s just Ford? Wake up my friend. The requirements for economy and emissions are getting worse not better No matter how hard Ford “fights”. Besides there is a simple fix. Plug a simple led night light in the 110v outlet. Big deal.

Yes I know i can plug a welder in the back and fix it , yes I know its more than Ford , But this is a FORD TRUCK , the truck of all trucks , forever , and the engine dies at the first stop light like a little bitch , im driving a truck (kinda , in my mind anyway) engine should stay running until I , ME, tells it not to.... Shouldn't have to plug things in or disconnect other things to make that happen... Not in a truck (kinda) ...

Seven posts whining about a minor issue with an easy fix. Sorry Ford hasn't gotten around to designing a specific vehicle just for you. Get over it.
