dont worry, i think Fords working as fast as they can to get me an electric F150. i am their top priority
then when they do you will have made a step in the direction of not being fulla dung. All you need to do to clean up your act would be an electric powered boat, and then there's that little issue of your career you speak of thats bad for the environment. Take care of that and you will make Andrea Occasio Cortez proud. Unless of course you've got cows that fart???

Yah, I am not too sure about just pulling plugs either. My "guess" is it has to do with more than just the auto s/s. I bet you are right about battery management.

I sprung for the gizmo from Autostop Eliminator. for me the 80 bucks was a deal. my switch still works, but it stays where I put it.

Is there a way to override the Auto Stop/Start on a model without the power inverter?
many ways but: autostop eliminator -- under 100 bucks and 15 minute instal.... there's a lot of stuff on that in this forum way many pages, you can read thorough them till your eyes bleed .... anyway, thats the solution I went with best money I ever spent. it works as described. threre is an installation video on the site as well.

here's the link if you want it: https://www.autostopeliminator.com

good luck!

an elcetric boat engine would be sweet...know of anyone who makes one yet?
It's no V-12 Mercury but Torquedo makes an 80 hrsps equivalent model.

You're really not getting the point. All he said was that being aware of your impact and simply trying a little bit can help.

I'm the asshole that litters in the city on the justification that it's already trashed or I'm giving people a community service gig. But even I can see that I'm selfish in my actions.
I'm the farthest thing from an environmentalist but even I know I should do my part. I'm just bull headed enough to refuse to do it, mostly, until 2.8 billion people on the other side of the world do it.

TLDR: Take just one or two steps back from the Fox News.

Here is a new one I haven't heard on here. Basically, put a bad battery in for a period of time, once the BMS detects a bad battery a few times it will permanently disable ASS. you can then put your good battery back in but the ASS will stay disabled. Ford has to go in and "reset" the BMS in order for the ASS to EVER work again, at least according to this guy.

Jeez people why not just spend $3.00 and plug a LED nightlight and be done with it? Three free and easy choices are drive in S mode, disconnect the small plug at the battery or push the darn button. Hauling over a dead battery to try and trick the BMS? This is almost as comical as the catalytic converter thread.

Battery would have to be bad enough to register "bad" with the BMS but just good enough to actually start the truck I guess.

bad as in dead?
or like really trashed?
Do you have dead batteries laying around your property? I don't and don't know anyone who does. Seriously wouldn't know where to get one besides a junk yard. I'd waste more gas getting to one than a $3.00 nightlight cost me.

Well yea its not a solution for everyone but one could just deal w it until your battery started showing signs of needing replacing and run it until you cant stand it anymore. Also, insure your dealer does not reset your BMS if you take it to the dealer when you do get a new battery.

Yes this guy seems to have some good info.

I just never had any dead batteries hanging around but I'm OCD and if something doesn't work it goes into the trash. I know it was just showing others there's another alternative to disable A/S/S but It just seems like plugging in a nightlight is a lot easier than lugging a dead battery over and disconnecting the original, connecting the dead one then reconnecting the original. lol My nightlight has been plugged in for almost 2 years now and never give it any thought. ?

Back to the post of Start/Stop.
If you have access to a Windows platform PC, then I would recommend using FORScan to disable the setting. Donating to the author is a small cost compared to the perks you get.
Many other settings are also offered with the program/App, thanks to many users on the forums here.

mmm, yeah, thats as useless as a tailgate damper.
Now this is exactly what ive been talking about!!! You say a minkota is as useless as a tailgate dampener, yet in another breath you virtue signal by scolding people for disabling their auto stop feature. Ive got news for you buddy. If you are real about "saving the planet", then you need to make some sacrifices. Or is it that you just expect everyone else to make the sacrifices, so that you can continue with your internal combustion toys??? Again this is John Kerry to a tee. I think im running out of patience for people that need to be weaned. Stop being such a douchebag!!!
