There's a good chance it's a battery going bad. even if you check it and it looks good ,means nothing.you want it to read over 12 on the volt meter.

My auto stop worked fine for the first 1 year+. Last 6 months, no longer works. Display always says Charging. Of course it worked at the recent dealer’s appt!! No idea why. Did a Load Test and battery was Marginal.

Smart charger would not charge over 12.72 volts. Don’t know why. Standard charger charged from 12.15 volts (typical non use voltage) to 13.08 volts. Started truck and got Low Temperature display, then after a few minutes, Charging. No Auto Stop operation. Volts at end of trial 12.58.

I agree with others here, battery aging affects the A/S operation. Will Ford give me a new battery? Others have gone thru 2 or more batteries. Others change the Computer system to allow higher voltage charging and that seems to work.

I know I don’t want the same scenario with the 2nd battery. Will see if Ford can alter the charging. I’m sure they are paying out thousands on Replacement batteries.

My display says Normal Operation and it still doesn’t shut off. Dealer trying to fix via Ford input.
It always says Normal Operation. It’s what is said UNDER that when you Stop that you have to be concerned about.

There is a menu you can display that will show you the status of stop/start. If it won't engage it will tell you why (charging battery, etc). It is in the left hand windows on the Lariat.
Yep, mine was battery until it suddenly changed its mind and started working. Long drive charged it up past some limit level I assume.
