Have you seen overlandunderbudget on Instagram/youtube? This build reminds me of his and I love it!

Keep up the great work - looks awesome so far. Love the DIY community.

Couldn’t resist adding this to the truck. “OnlyFlatbeds” haha. Some guys on the Facebook Ranger pages have zero humor.
Why I left the FB groups for similar reasons. If they couldn't buy the part it confused them.

You should see the FB Jeep pages for the new Wranglers and Gladiators.

The only place where a rubber duck counts as a "mod".

"Naming" your vehicle also counts as a mod.

Waiting to see what you do. This could have application on my rack.
I’ll be working more on it this weekend and next week so I should have a full cardboard swing down version soon! I want to make a cool ratchet strap for it too. Haha. I have found a couple places that make custom straps.

Hahaha! Those damn ducks kill me. I’m glad my Jeep broke when it did. It was right at the start of that duck mess. I’m hoping to get the Jeep going again soon so I can do some tinkering on the truck and not rush putting it back together so I can drive it.

it’s funny, I bought this truck to be a daily while I worked on the Jeep… now it’s work on the truck and watch the Jeep just sit in the drive way.

I never intended to do a single mod to my truck. Zero. Nothing.

I scooped it up at 0% APR (I had never owned a brand new zero mile car ever in my life) and rarely had a need to drive a personal vehicle as I had a patrol car I drive back and forth to work. I actually sold my old Dakota because I put like 700 miles on it in one year and was tired of paying insurance every month on it. The plan was just to use the Ranger on rare occasion, like a weekend jaunt, but mainly just to park it and have it available as needed. I still have less than 13k miles after nearly 3 years of ownership and always change the oil based on time, not miles.

Then I stumbled on this website shortly after purchase and saw all the cool setups people had and was instantly hooked. I had zero experience in 12v electrical work and metal working/finishing. I've tripped and fell down a bit of a rabbit hole at this point.

Hell yeah! I wouldn’t mind having to change oil on time vs mileage lol. I’m a couple hundred miles from 50k after 2 years of owning it.

I know I’ll need to adjust this some but here is the first 3D cardboard version of the moving side of the carrier. The top section is an addition to clear the tire and act as a holding bar sits higher than the headboard on the truck. I’m not a huge fan of it but also find it necessary in some ways to capture the tire a little better. I may try to lower it some so it doesn’t stick so high above the headboard.

Need photo of you wearing it as a hat to give proper feedback.
