Eh, if the Rivian is funny looking then Cybertruck an origami Delorian to me. Isn't the Hummer truck electric?

At least this hasn't gone the way of the Nikola electric scam.
Have you seen the Cyber Truck on the roads? Yeah, me neither. I'm still waiting to see if it will actually look like it did when Musk revealed it 3 years ago.

I saw my first E-Hummer (from afar) the other day, have yet to see a Cybertruck (even though there's TONS of Teslas in my area), and hadn't even heard of Rivian until this thread...though I'm guessing that if they're still a relative start-up and are struggling at that, they probably aren't marketing outside of the US. I have seen several Lightnings though, so it's not like there isn't a market for the others. I actually thought that the Cybertruck just died a quiet little death after all of the "early-90s Lara Croft design" memes that came out when it was first unveiled.

I'm within 30 minute's of their factory so I see quite a few of em.

All of their drivers thus far are complete pricks.
Also their auto leveling headlight system is a joke; having one behind you at night is like being constantly being flashed with highbeams for 3 seconds before adjusting after a pothole.
I see a bunch of them in the Bend, OR area. I can confirm the above statement, unfortunately :(

I wouldn't hold your breath, either. Their production is delayed to mid-2023 (from "late 2021" in the 2019 announcement.)

Yeah, I was never all that excited about it in the first place, so..... TBH, I don't mind the first two Tesla offerings, but I find their CUV ugly as hell, and the Cybertruck manages to "top" (or is it "bottom"?) that level of nausea-inducement.

Friday yet?

It's actually the hydrogen Nikola that turned into a shitshow. The electric is actually looking promising. And hydrogen is still on the drawing board. Since they threw out the founder/crook the company is moving in the right direction.

I know it's business and you can't blame the guy but for all the BS he spews he should be paying his fair share.
I despise the term "fair share". It villifies people who make more than me for no valid reason. It is also a term nobody can quantify.

It probably wasn't my best choice of words. I just personally can't stand the guy and but without getting to political I can't say much more. :lipssealed:

I've seen a few are here and personally I think they're ugly. Maybe they drive well and have some good features but I just don't like the looks of them.

Also, with these kind of losses, they probably won't survive another year.

Yeah $70K taking a chance on a start up company or $50K for a base Lightning is an easy decision. Heck even the top of the line Lightning is only $20K more which I would still spend the extra for that before a Rivian.

To many unknowns with Rivian and that's a lot of money to spend on a company who may or may not be around if there's problems down the road. But I guess someone like Elon or even Ford might buy them up and take over if they could get it at a fire sale.

It would be nice if you could get a base Lightning . I reserved a Pro at 45k but they are not available to order . When I finally received an invitation to order the Pro and XLT were not available so I put my reservation on hold . I received an email from Ford yesterday that the XLT was ready to order but it came to 68k because Ford raised the price by $7500 which was going to be the tax break on the damn thing to begin with . I just can't see paying over 60k for an XLT so I reluctantly canceled my reservation last night :(

Still waiting on my July 2020 Bronco but don't have much faith in them getting that to me before my price protection runs out .

ya agreed with it being an unknown company its hard to put that much trust in them.. i could have sworn thought about buying them out so they were going to get help on that end but i guess they didnt...

tbh i dont want anything electric dont like em at all... but if i had a choice id go with a jeep tbh since its more capable on what i want to do in life the lightning is nothing i want...

I saw the article below this morning where they raised the prices again. This time on the Pro, XLT and XLT High $4k, $4k and $500. Pretty soon Right now these will be so expensive that many won't be able to afford them. With the Base model at $56K and the Platinum at just under $97K now I know I won't be looking to buy one anytime soon.
