AC not working.

The AC in my 2019 is out and is blowing hot air.
I took my truck to the dealer and received an estimate for the work shown in the attached quote.
Has anybody else experienced this? Is all of this needed, or are they overselling me@ at three grand? Could be just a blend door issue? DTC B1082, Right Temp Damper Motor.

well the problem is the whole dash needs to come out... to replace the blend door(s) properly by the book

Look around the site, some people have fixed it without pulling the dashboard, just working around it.

To fix the issue they will have to remove the dashboard.

How many miles on your truck?

If not too many miles, reach out to Ford to see if they can help as this is a known and common issue.

Can't hurt to ask.

Pulling the dash and replacing the heater box (which is the correct fix for this issue) is a BIG job. I did my own, over the course of 2 days. Here are some of the gory details:

That's a deal, considering that it's out of warranty. Well, maybe not a deal, being out 1200.

Ok all was good with AC until this morning when it just came on automatically 3 times during my commute!
Each time I shut it off. We'll see what the drive home brings. Has anyone had that happen?

So, to confirm:

A: You have the system (Off) and it just comes (On) by itself?
or
B: You are in (Heat) temp setting and it switches and starts blowing (Cold)?

Out of curiosity - Is it at 5-Minute intervals?
Switch it back off after it comes on and 5-Minutes later it turns back on?

It is strange, the wiring diagrams do not cover the actual power switch or internals of the (FCIM) circuit control board.

The only things I can thing of is a possible sticking switch (sensing a press of the button) or somehow the Humidity Control circuit is triggering the recirculation door to move, in (Off) the door should be open.

Out of curiosity do you have Dual Temp on the truck? If you do then chances are you need a new HVAC box. This was a common issue with the 2019 model year Ranger.
