Actually, I have a white cloudy spot that appeared on mine a couple of days ago and is still there. My son updated everything for me the and the screen actually looked brighter and clearer. Then, this white cloud appeared.?‍♀ I don’t know what the heck!:crazy:
Thanks for the info. Tracy. Can you post a picture of it? I am going to the Dealer tomorrow to have them check on 2 safety recalls 21C24 & 21C25 so I will ask the service dept. about the spot and if there are any concerns with it. Will report back what they said.

I've owned the Ranger a year and 3 mos. The backup camera has worked perfectly until yesterday with a very clear image both day & night. I was backing out of the garage and a white cloudy spot appeared on the display screen. Today I did a reset by shutting off the motor, opening the door then locking it and closing it...2 beeps sounded on the horn. Then put it into reverse and the spot dissappeared. Cleaned the display screen and camera lens.

I hope this is just a temporary glitch. Has anyone experienced this issue?

That is almost certainly something on the exterior lens. You said you cleaned camera lens and screen and it went away. I had a spider web across mine and got an awesome view of an arachnid's undercarriage.

I sure will! I’ll do it this afternoon when I get off work?

Justin,
Sorry, I wasn't clear about the process. The spot disappeared after the reset and I followed with the cleaning of the lens and screen just to confirm that the view was clear. Was your spider web caused by a distortion on the screen or on the lens? Were you able to solve the issue?

I park under a street light and spiders gather on the light colored surfaces. It was on the camera after sitting overnight. A simple swipe and good as new, no more spider belly.

Ok, well, here it is in all my humiliation!:facepalm:

1st pic circled in blue. Looks more like a thumbprint now. Was more cloudy white.

2nd pic after I wiped camera down with Windex.

Sorry @OrangeStreak that I wasn’t any help after all.:frown::)

Obviously you need a damper so that your greasy thumb isn't contaminating the backup camera when you catch the fast descending tailgate.

Now the damper has become a safety requirement.

Contact your Congressman!!!

Tracy,
Thanks for the photo. The configuration and image of your spot looks similar to mine. If your spot is also a cloudy white then it is very likely that this is the same problem. The reset which Ford recommened cleared off the spot completely and the camera has been working normally ever since. Try it and see if it solves your problem: Start the motor then shut it off, open the driver door then lock the door before closing it. After that close the door and in the process you will hear 2 beeps from the horn. Start the motor again and put it in reverse and see if the spot is gone. Let me know if that works.
The dealer told me today that I could make an appointment and they could run a scan to see if any codes appear. Even though the camera is working perfectly now, I have an appointment Thursday (since I'm still under warranty) to get the scan done just see if they come up with anything?
