Well, I guess I have a different experience (as i've posted here).
My stock 2wd got 19 mpg on a level no-wind highways, no matter how I drive (I get great mileage on all other vehicles, so know how to drive efficiently).
My 2021 has never gotten better than 20 mpg, and as low as 15 mpg.
So, in some cases it's definitely the vehicle :(

🤣I'm with you...to summarize...if you drive like a sane person:

1-2wd stock gets the highest MPG like 27+ level road
2-4wd stock gets the next best at around 22+ level road
3-leveled 4wd drops down to 20+- level road
4-leveled + poked + shiton lights + RTT + shovels + antennas sticking out everywhere + 500lbs camping gear + 285s + live in hill country gets me 16-17 city, 17-19 highway...and that's driving with an egg between foot and pedal...

I must've missed it...that is pretty poor for a 2wd...something's not right...

2020 ranger 4d 4x4 tow and off road, 87 gas only country driving.
truck likes hotter weather ,looses mpg in winter .
Make a trip [170miles] every 2 weeks or so ,empty up,500lb to 1000 lb steel parts back.[in bed with cover.
Life average 24.6mpg, usually 26 to 27 mpg never seen under 24..
On a trip [65 mph or under] saw over 30......
Truck broke in about 8000 miles [2mpg jump] held steady from 20000 to 30000 miles.

Just did a trip to near Tampa and back. Decided to use mid grade fuel. 2 Fill ups each way. 20 to 20.5 mpg was always displaying. 70-75 mph and loaded down with stuff plus 2 E-bikes.
Stock 4x4, but I think the heavier A/T tires are what knocks it down a couple mpg.

BTW, in the RV park where I was, I saw more 19 and up Rangers than I've seen in my 4 years of owning one. They were everywhere.

I thought I should start a thread about what kinda mileage eveyoeve is getting.

Include the type of driving you do city/highway %, driving style, gas used, if your using the auto start/stop feature and aprox engine mileage.

So I'm on my third tank of gas and tgt mileage has been improving.

  • 70%/30% city/highway
  • Average
  • 87 oct
  • Start/stop: off
  • 600 miles
  • 4x4, FX4
Computer MPG 19.5
Manual calc MPG 20.5
2021 Tremor with stock tires
5,000 miles
I average 20.0 mpg (50/50 hwy/road)

Half week ago and 6G RR.
This is what it is now.
Can’t complain but if you get yourself a RR, fuel consumption is last thing you’re allowed to complain about I guess.

2019 4x4, stock height. 20.4 MPG, 50/50 highway city. I've seen it at 21 for longer freeway trips. This is what the truck is reporting. 87 octane, pretty chill driver
