You're tires WILL be overinflated.

Your transmission MAY be underfilled.
Me: "uh the tires are at 40psi. I think that's overinflated"

Dealer:"no it says max 51psi on the sidewall"

10-4. The proper air pressure for the truck configuration and oem tire installed is listed on the driver's side door sticker. It is always lower than the maximum inflation listed on the tire.
Check air pressure when cold using a quality dial or digital gauge, don't rely on the TPMS readings in the instrument cluster for accurate pressure.

edit: The factory overinflates the tires:
  • to ensure the beads are fully seated
  • to keep the wheel straps or binders from compressing the tires and potentially loosening, allowing the vehicle to shift fore & aft excessively and make contact with an adjacent vehicle on a rail or truck transport.
Many vehicle prep folks will skip over deflating the tires to proper spec as a time saver "...as long as the TPMS idiot light ain't on, the tires are good to go..."
Might be a good idea to wait until the following day after delivery, or after the truck has sat for several hours to check them. While you are in the business office signing out, someone will be driving it to a gas station and/or car wash, if that hadn't been done already.

Enjoy your new Ranger, Chuck!!

The brakes are kind of meh to start, may have air in the system requiring bleeding but the dealerships will all but refuse to acknowledge it.

Hope yours doesn't have multiple leaks.

An empty wallet when the upgrades/mods bug bites you... Aside from that you will probably love every second of driving it.

Congrats on the new truck! You must be so excited.

Coming from a Civic, the things that stood out to me immediately were the ride height (I can see EVERYTHING!!), the engine sound and speed, the bouncy suspension, and one of the most unsatisfying brake feels on a modern vehicle ever I'd imagine.

Overall I bet you'll love it though. You'll get used to the brakes pretty quickly. If the suspension bothers you, ain't nothing a little money can't fix!

the looonnnggg brake pedal travel is designed in; feels like worn pads.
the 5G truck was designed in Australia, and I guess that's what they like. Bleeding the system won't improve them. "They all do that" is true in this case.

I got an email survey from Ford asking me about my likes & dislikes,
now that I've had the truck for 90+ days. Overall I am pleased with the truck, but my number one dislike was the short shifting transmission algorithm and number two was brake pedal feel and travel.

My brakes were bled and it fixed the issue. Otherwise, a great truck.
