Detroter- Will you share what brand of ceramic coating you got, how many layers and what the cost was?
Ceramic Pro, 4 layers, about $1100

Thank you! I'm shopping Sacramento, CA for detailers.
Sorry it took me so long to acknowledge you're going out of your way to answer.
I'm still trying to find the "best" ceramic brand, or graphine oxide product. What a pain.
One detailer offered 5 year guarantee for 1 coat of 9H and 1 top coat for ~$1800.
Another detailer for 5 years, sold CQuartz Ceramic coating $2000 on sale without wheels. Their seven year package included wheels. It was ~ $2400 on sale.

Another detailer said if you are going to use automatic car washers, save your money and don't get the coating.

I recently purchased a 2021 Ranger XLT sport 4 x 4. While washing it last week I noticed a factory paint flaw. The color is carbonized grey metallic. The flaw is only noticeable under certain light conditions. Here are some pictures so you can see exactly what I am talking about. As you can see in the pics it’s a vertical line that appears to be darker than the paint job itself. under certain light conditions you can barely see it unless you know where to look for it. It’s under the clearcoat. When I took it up to the Ford body shop to have them look at it to see what could be done they say the only option is to break the factory paint seal and repaint it which I’m not that crazy at all about doing. I don’t want the solution to become worse than the problem itself. I’m just wondering if anybody else has had any paint flaw situations where they could share their input with me and give me some advice on whether I should live with it or get it repaired. I also have some other issues with the hood alignment and driver door alignment however that’s a whole other thread LOL any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting your experience. I recently purchased a 2022 Ford Ranger XLT and noticed a paint issue on the lower front corner of driver’s side back passenger door (see pics).

The bumps appear to be hardened paint clumps but I thought I’d post here on this thread to get some feedback on what others think it could be and advice on what to do.

I’m thinking I’ll leave it alone and live with it. I just don’t want it to further deteriorate or lead to rust and if there’s something I can do to appropriately address this area of paint. If it’s just an imperfection and poses no issue to metal, I can handle that. Thanks for any feedback.
