I would try a new high-quality USB data cable. They can become intermittent. For your other problem, try disconnecting the battery cable for a few minutes.

That’s weird. You might just be one of the few that got unlucky and have a defective touchscreen. Not something I’ve heard of before with these trucks but I guess anything is possible.

Before you pull out the USB ports and replace them, I would try a different cable or maybe try resetting your phone to factory settings. I was having issues with sync for a while, it ended up being a setting that got changed when my phone updated. I restored it back to factory settings, deleted and re-paired my phone to the truck, and everything has worked fine since.

Hello all it's been a while....got this truck from the beginning.....had occasional AAuto disconnecting. I would pull the plug and put it back in and would be fine. The last month the touchscreen is ghost touching like crazy. I hard booted it. I soft booted it. To.no avail. It will go a day or so then come back. Hangs up on my wife lol all kinds of things. My thoughts are could this all be because of the degrading of the touchscreen? My first thought is replacing the touch screen and possibly the USB ports to fix the issues?

Have you tried just Cleaning it?
I had someone touch mine after eating a donut and left some smudge and it was doing that

Sync is up to date and nothing was ever spilled. It's a real thing...I guess this forum is truly stumped on this one.

Thanks...yes been cleaned been rebooted....nothing with phone. It is the screen. Which to me is unbelievable

It sounds like your touch digitiser is on the way out. as a last resort you could pull the head unit and check the ribbon cable, clean the contacts at the end with contact cleaner. New touch digitisers are pretty cheap as a replacement part, just search Ranger 2020 Sync 3 Touch Screen Replacement. There are also some decent upgrade options with larger screens that integrate with the vehicle systems (AC controls etc) and give you a built-in Android operating system.
I don't think your AA connection issues would be related to the touch screen.

Now you are sure your truck isn't haunted right? Because that would be quite freaky to see the screen acting like someTHING is touching it.

When you did a Google Search, was there any results on possible causes and fixes? If there is a known fix then you're not the only one who's had this happen. I can't help since my '21's touchscreen has been 100% since new.

Well it's not haunted and yes I need to replace the screen and digitizer.......heard it's common for Ford sync 3 in 2020
