nice. I have a bunch of kinfolk in that area. I'll just assume we're cousins
Hounddog I hope you meant skinfolk :thumbsup:
Any way I just turned 3000 mi, my last run of around 350mi manually figured I was at 23.3 on 87 oct. Speeds varied from drive thru small town stop & go to 65 to 85 varied, driving an FX 4x4. Ford states 20 to 24 so cannot complain. Have yet to get a straight all highway run in.:frown:

Glad it's not just me. Same for me. 3" lift and 33 RidgeGraplers and I'm averaging about 16mpg. Didn't expect it to collapse that bad!

Frivolous. Too many people have documented achieving published numbers. A 3" lift and 33" tires and you're still getting 16 mpg? Sounds about right. Did you do a before and after? I had a 2008 F-150 that was getting hand calculated 17 mpg with a very light foot. I put a 1.75" front spacer kit and went from 32" to 33" tires and got 13.5 mpg on the same loop, same light foot.

I’m still averaging above 21mpg with a lift and 33” tires and just broke 1000mi; it’s how you drive it.

For anybody getting really low MPG numbers... Where are you filling up? I put Walmart gas in my first two tanks and calc'd out 20 and 18 city. Put Tom Thumb gas in it and got 21 calc'd on this last tank. And I did a LOT of stop and go sitting in traffic. Also, those numbers are probably achieved with the auto-start feature, so if you disable it, expect a bit less.

If you lifted your truck and put on bigger tires, you no longer have a horse in this race.

I have noticed my mileage got a bit better after my 600 mile trip pulling a UHaul trailer - not sure why. Currently on this tank I'm at about 23.5 and that is a mix of city/hwy driving.

I've got almost 4000 miles on my truck now.

Gas mileage is sooo subjective to variables. Mostly by the brain of the driver. If you take a scientific study for over a year then maybe you will have an average for your self and your vehicle. Of course if you mod anything then you start over. And of course beer joint or kitchen table top science is not the truth. You can put beer science in the same place that the beer ends up.

A little over 14 - but I was driving 70-80 going over mountain passes a lot of the way. I was pretty happy with the mileage given how it was driven. It wasn't on the flat interstate. The trailer was (I'm guessing) around 2000 lbs ish. But I hardly knew it was there the whole trip.

I think the other reason my MPG has gotten better is because I'm learning how to drive it more efficiently. A lighter touch on the gas most of the time. The truck is so smooth and quiet, it gets up to speed quickly even with a light throttle. Sometimes I think it feels like I'm driving slower than I am because it is so smooth and quiet. If I'm not careful I'll be going 80 on the freeway.

Disagree with your last sentence.

This was a 42mi trip home from work with a lift and “bigger tires.” Like I said before, it’s how you drive it.

I use 91 fuel, cruise control, and am cognizant of traffic - good mpg is achievable on nearly any setup, within reason.
