I have a 2021 Ford Ranger and after my lift was done I found out there was a factory defect that caused a lean on the left rear. My lean is resulting in the right rear being 3/4" higher than the left rear. Supposedly the lean is because because of the gas tank but never the less Fords poor attempt to fix it was to put a 1/4" leaf spring plate in which did basically nothing. Also ReadyLift knew of this defect but said nothing and still sold the lift kit. This is a Ford factory defect causing cosmetic, mechanical, and safety issues that has not been completely addressed and fixed by Ford. If anyone is interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit please let me know. I want to see if there is any interest. I for one am spending a chunk of money trying to get this defect fixed and my truck level in the rear.
Yes the truck has soft suspension, guess what you will live

My most recent class action experience was a lawsuit that was settled out of court for ~150 million. The attorney's fees added up to almost $80 million. I got seventy bucks.

The worst one I was a part of (though I ultimately opted out of it) was where a company admitted it had withheld relevant negative information from investors, thereby causing the investors to overpay for newly purchased shares of their stock. I had purchased stock during the time in question, and per the settlement had suffered economic damages because of the actions of the company. However, per the terms of the settlement I was not entitled to any payout . The real problem was I still owned the stock, and the settlement payout really hurt the company's balance sheets and caused the price of the stock to fall, so I actually lost money due to the settlement.

Rotes of Ruck folks..
Even if a class action suite were to end in your favor, it will be years before any $$$ is doled out or repairs are done. Your Ranger will likely be on it's second or third owner.
Also, the day the lawsuit is filed, Ford will stop talking about or doing anything to help you until the suit is taken care of....they will not even comment on it.
Your best bet is to file complaints with NHTSA....if they get enough complaints they can intervein and get something done a lot quicker if it turns out to be a safety concern.
This. VW had a timing tensioner that would fail and obviously if it did, catastrophic damage was done to the engine. It effected all VW 2.0 engines built across several years and effecting almost all VW and Audi models. The problem was that because their was a class action suit, the court ruled that VW had to replace the tensioner and timing chain in every 2.0 engine built in the timeframe in question, and give an extended warranty. Sounds great. Except it took so long to get that judgement that most vehicles were already past the mileage restriction set in the judgement to be eligible. I would expect this to play out the same way. Even in the unlikely event a lawsuit is heard and won, it'll take so long to settle that most of us will have either sold, wrecked, or fixed the truck by then.

Mine has a lean. I'm trying to come up with a catchy name for it like the Carolina squat and have it become a trend. In the meantime, it helps water drain off the bed cover.
Maybe when the late night commercials say I may be eligible for a payout, I'll jump in.
What do you think of "the lefty lean"? Pretty catchy I think.

Google "Chevy lean", "Toyota lean" and "Ford lean" and you will find many results. It is a common thing, not that it makes it right.

Anyway, all the manufacturers seem to shim the rear leaf springs when the better fix is to shim the front shock/strut assembly. A little off level in front really amplifies in the rear of the truck.

I've fixed a Chevrolet with the issue before and a 1/8" shim between the shock mount and the frame created 1/4" lift in front and caused about 5/8" change when measured at the rear wheel wells.

My XLT leans a bit to the left but that’s because I’ve packed on a few too many COVID calories over the past two years. My wife hasn’t kept up, so, yeah, it leans.

Probably my problem too. I was a passenger twice this week while my wife drove, but it didn't fix it.

you might want to look into ordering some of Fords "fix" leaf spring plates. your local ford dealer can order them. i ordered two from memphis, tn factory. you could have ford put one or two on your left rear depending on how bad your lean is

***the factory leaf spring plate "fix" is part#: KB3Z5798A $68.00 a piece
Thanks for the info ☺

i experienced this "lean" issue with my 2004 f150 svt lightning and my 2010 lariat f150. ford did nothing. this issue is not a safety issue and they will do nothing about it. my 2020 Ranger FX4 has it too. i just do not think about it.
