Much better dealership experience this time after dealing with their customer service department post-sale.

Oil & filter change, tire rotation, replaced two tie-down brackets that were missing after the spray-in bedliner was applied, made extra effort to address some of the post-sale issues. New customer service Rep was nice, Service Rep was great, and Service Mgr came out to personally check the backseat-latching problem.

He gave his thoughts on fumoto valves, catch cans, etc.

Happy. I also came across a HD F-150 and a Shelby Raptor Baja with serial no.5...thought I'd share pics.

The HD truck looks better in black IMO but no way I'm dropping close to 100K on a truck.

So, what were his thoughts on Fumoto valves and catch cans?

I love all Ford trucks old & new ...but I get 2 new loaded Rangers before dropping $95k on F150 Harley Davidson! They will sell them all tho guaranteed . Ford can sell high end trim levels.

i cant stand the wheels on the HD model.

and the fact I cant stand Harly's at all.

and I'm broke as f*ck.

I guess it's not for me.
U smart enuff to get a highly durable / tough/ well built new Ranger im assuming!? Just change that oil @5k mis MAX using ur fave SN+ rated full synthetic & motorcraft filters ONLY..always. Plus swing at least 89 midgrade fuel to allow motor run bit better as these EcoBoost love higher octane ! I use 93 premium only. Speedway. Shell. Circle K. Meijers. Walmart. No matter brand always 93 brah. Change transfer case fluids 30k mis ALWAYS to ensure longevity = saved $.

So, what were his thoughts on Fumoto valves and catch cans?
I like that Raptor!
He was ok with the idea of the oil change valve. He wasn't convinced yet that a catch can is proven to reduce/prevent the gunk. He didn't think it would impact the warranty...validated the funk from direct injection engines...laughed at the idea of a walnut blast due to the potential to introduce debris into the engine, and that $600 was the start....added that fuel additive wouldn't work, but didn't specify which type.

The feel I got was that he recognized the potential impact from build-up, but was not convinced that the catch can would really help...one guy's thoughts.

I vaguely remember him mentioning it as an issue for a different model, but don't recall which one.

Check out my thread on how "Super" durable the paint is on this Ranger you might change your tune. I predict through bed rust in 5-6 years in the salt states on the corners down by the cab. It's that bad.

If you live anywhere you might encounter regular bouts with gravel, I'd be putting 3M paint film on ASAP.

I got Protective Paint Film (PPF) on the front half and a ceramic coat all over. It'll prevent chipping, but not sure about rust prevention. What are you going to do to prevent it?

I plasti-dipped the crap out of it to get me through winter, and when it's finally nice out, I'm going to 3M paint protect film all of the spots that are chipped now. I'm not going to pay thousands to have it resprayed, and I doubt Ford even cares.

This is from a few miles a day on michigan gravel roads, and probably salt damage from when they put rock salt on the roads when it snows. This is the leading edge of the bed, the door trailing edges have chips similar to this, yet not nearly as bad.

I have 26k miles on the truck now.

Chevron Techron few times per yr has proven to work. All else shown to be garbage more or less. Try run a tier 1 fuel. These EcoBoost love octane to as they are essentially performance motors . Keep trucking!

No worries man all us in salt states wash our trucks once per wk in winter months never any issues. The MAP facility builds the Ranger has NEW 500mil paint shop. This truck is stout in every way not speculation ...all I've said on here is substantiated by my ties to auto industry! Here's my rig at 6mos old / 10k mis.
