What are you guys driving thru? I drive Forest service gravel roads regularly and have almost 12k on my truck and don't have that kind of chipping. We don't do salt here and they spread "sand" (gravel, really) on the roads for traction.
Man that stinks!!!Why even put the film on it if it’s not going to help?
Is most of your driving on gravel roads? Just curious. That is a LOT of chipping....Michigan gravel roads basically. I have 25,700 on the truck.
Curious minds have many questions:
Do you have mud flaps on your truck?
Running boards / rock sliders?
What manufacturer and type / size of tire size?
Same issue on each side. I am trying to make a formal notice with a report for make ford pay.Yes, OEM splash guards.
No running boards, I may have to do some to keep the paint remotely alive.
OEM Hankook tires that come on the FX4.
None of this makes sense.
Even the trailing edge of the doors is catching chips...
Going to see if I can order some bulk 3M film and add some protection to the edges that stick out. I can't believe it's chipped this bad already.

I looked at link, and saw pictures..... of shoes. WTH? protecting the bottoms of shoes? I'm Out of touch I guess...You can get a 6" X 60 " roll of it fairly cheaply. And this stuff installs fairly easily. Wrapping the curves might present issues. So maybe taking the truck to a shop that installs vinyl wraps to have them install it on the rocker panels might be worth looking into.
lol.. Didn't scroll to the reviews.. I guess you could use it for that as well.I looked at link, and saw pictures..... of shoes. WTH? protecting the bottoms of shoes? I'm Out of touch I guess...
