How long to allow someone else to drive your Ranger

Is sport mode really that much of a difference? I hadn’t noticed.

As VGKRanger mentioned the different shift points. Also, I believe it turns off automatic start/stop (I could also be wrong). It will also allow you to use the +/- toggle button on the shifter which work nicely. To me the throttle response feels more aggressive also. I will use it when getting on to the highway or when I just want to throw people back in their seats.

I used to use it almost all the time in my 12 Fusion Sport and my 17 Fusion SE but got annoyed at how high it would hold the revs.

Nah, it was a blast up until the shattered ankle. I'll be back up there again soon. I've got a few weeks before I'm healed back to driving and wheeling capabilities, but I'm itching for it bad.

It is definitely different in a good way! It is kind of overkill for city driving, but I use it every time I hit the freeway or travel on mountain roads!

It does turn off the start/stop, which is another advantage of Sport!

I have no problem letting others drive my Ranger. If someone wanted to take it out for a spin I let them. They're all insured. Now when I had my Corvette nobody drove it except me. My wife has no interest in driving any cars that I buy on my side of the garage. Its the CR-V or nothing. Generally, I'll let good friends borrow the truck if they need it. I certainly am not putting a lot of miles on it. I'm OCD about a lot of things but my truck is not one of them. Which is kind of why I bought a truck. How I was more OCD my sports cars and bikes. One of the reasons why I bought a truck is not to have to worry about it. I've always had a pickup truck along with fun cars I wanted for a minute. I was never OCD about my Tacomas.

Back in the good ole days - I had an '88 Mazda RX7 convertible - a buddy's car went to the shop and I gave him the keys and just asked to keep it local because it had an oil leak at the time. He didn't listen and put some good miles on it, but the real kick in the ass was when he returned it to me a quarter tank - it had a 1/2 tank when I loaned it to him - I was selling the car to another buddy and it was in nice shape before he made a payment to me (probably 2 months) his wife finds out she is expecting. So we took the car back - the dude had messed up the car one to many curbs hit. No offer to fix it the car either.

I have no problem helping out a friend in need but would probably do the driving

The admin needs to add a "That Sucks" button next to the "Like" button.

That age starts to show as soon as you walk up to the truck. The Ranger shares virtually none of its design language with the larger Ford F-150 and Super Duty trucks. Instead of brutalist edges and C-clamped headlights, the design is rounded and smooth. One could almost call it cute. Oversized taillights and a tailgate stamped with “RANGER” highlight the back end.

The style may be unexciting, but Ford nailed the Ranger’s proportions. In profile, this is an attractive truck, with the right balance between hood, cabin, and bed regardless of cab choice. Our Super Cab, with its six-foot bed, had a sporty appeal that came at the expense of usable cabin space (but more on that later).

The Ranger’s bigger problem is its disappointing interior filled with cheap plastics on the door panels, dashboard, and center stack. That’s true of the rest of the segment, sure, but the Ranger’s materials still feel below the bar set by trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and GMC Canyon, which both feature more soft-touch materials. Credit the truck’s 2011 roots for this shortcoming.

I like the fact that the Ranger does not look like a baby F150 - if I want an F150 I will buy an F150. You see the GM twinies going down the street can't tell if they are the mid or full size truck. I bought the Ranger cause I think it looks Damn Good!

I'm okay with the cabin - I came from a $42K Jeep Wrangler - want to talk about cheap plastics - I also like they didn't try and pretend it wasn't what was

So my wife finally drove the Ranger - she said it was okay but she does like her SUV better (VW Atlas) and she did notice the brakes right away.
