My rear seat got wet in storage shed. Apparently there’s a little mold on the inside of the upholstery. Can the upholstery be removed so I can get to the inside to treat it?

I'm sure the upholstery can be removed I'm just not sure how.

Just an FYI I'd be careful because the mold spores could now be imbedded into the foam. If you don't have this treated properly (meaning professionally) they'll just regrow causing serious respiratory illness.

I had a similar issue when I stored the seats from my SuperCab after a rear seat delete. The upholstery can be removed in the Scab so it is very likely the same with a Screw. If so, there will be plastic “ribs” like in a corset (chicka bow wow) that are fastened with hog hooks. Easy enough to remove but take a bit of work to replace. They can be replaced with stainless steel zip ties (Amazon) when you reassemble. It’s WAY easier.

But heed Dave’s warning about getting the foam treated. To make it more complicated, the foam on mine was molded around the steel frame of the seat - cannot be removed.

How deep into it do you need to get?

The back cover is not too bad to access.

It's held on by a plastic groove on one side and a plastic clip that fits into the groove, kinda like an interlocking "U" shape.

If you need to get in to the cushions, that's going to require cutting out hog rings and then replacing them when putting it back together.

I completely redid my interior in leather and it's not too bad taking it apart once you see how everything goes together.

Seeing how everything goes together is the toughest part, and I had the advantage of not caring about damaging the original cloth.

I think there’s a zipper at the back of the seat. Where are these hog rings? I’m going to look around on YouTube. Thanks!

The hog rings are what holds the pleats in the cloth in place.

There are steel rods in the foam that the pleats attach to.

Here's a pic of my rear seat after I recovered it in leather.

All of those pleats are held in place with hog rings.

Here's a pic of how they attach.

Each one of those grooves in the foam is where a hog ring goes.

I also did leather. The hardest part will be the center arm rest on back set. 2019 had reclining headrest with button to activate. If using the existing leather/cloth after cleaning. then I would suggest you leave them in the sun for a bit.
