A bit long...
Was trying to figure a build for a platform for the rear seat area of my Super Cab, for our 2 dogs and their doggie seats, high enough that they would be able to "see outside".
I ran across these storage containers. Both look to be sturdy enough as there hard side and hard bottom. Made by a company called Buckhorn, and imported from Germany, so quality is probably very good. The dimensions look like they would be a perfect fit for the rear floor area of a rear seat delete or as I'm doing, removing the rear seat bases.
Their listed on Zoro.....go to Zoro site and punch up these ###
First is Item # G9887215...48" x 15" x 10 1/2 inches $83.61 with free shipping
Second is #G8524171.....48" x 15" x 7 1/2 inches $54.98 with free shipping

From photos it appears they do not come with a cover or lid, but as an open storage they look perfect, and look like they would fit great on the rear floor area.
I think I'm going to get the larger one and invert it so the doggie seats can sit high, and will figure out a way to mount the seats to the platform.
Just the $83.61 is cheaper than I could build one out of quality materials, and much lighter.
Just passing this along if it helps.
Can't figure out how to post the photos from Zoro, so go there and see them.

Info...I just ordered the larger one, about 7day delivery. Will post about quality, ect, when it comes in.

I like the Scab for dogs. I would choose safety over the dogs looking out the windows. If you are in an accident the dogs have a greater chance of flying forward if you put them on a platform. Not sure if your idea is to secure the dogs or have them free on a platform.

The storage container will be secured to the floor. and their doggie seats will be secured to the platform, and they will both be tethered to their seats.
Will be drilling some holes in the compartment covers, running a long bolt up thru and nut/washer it to the cover. Corresponding holes drilled into the platform, washer and wingnut to secure to floor compartment covers. Their seats are held in place by seatbelts.
Would never let them "flop around" especially in an emergency.
Going to mount the container base down, and make a lid, and their seats will sit on top of the lid (which is of course secured). In addition to the platform, I will now have several cubic feet of extra storage for "stuff".
These are the seats we use...each is 24" wide and 14" deep.....2 of them will fit perfectly on a 48" platform (if my measurements are correct".

Thanks for this! Since they're 15 x 48 they also may also be a perfect fit for the space between the tailgate and bed divider behind the rear wheel wells (ie where you'd put a crosswise 2x6). If so, that could be really useful for tossing small things in the back. Please do report back on the quality, thickness, etc.!

Will do. Never have seen anything like these available in stores...the distributor seems to be more commercial oriented. They advise 7 day delivery, so this time next week.
Will also take some pic's of my "doggie platform" as I make it.
If the quality is good, and they seem sturdy enough, I'm probably going to get the smaller 7 inch high box, mount some small casters to the bottom, and make kind of a "slide out" box for the bed.
Would be ideal to store my upcoming weight distributing hitch head and bars. Mount the casters to match up with the "grooves" in the bed floor (lock casters of course). Everything under a tonneau, so I don't need a lid for it.

OK, the container came in today. Very good quality, made from heavy duty polypropylene....think cutting board material or the old milk crates stores used to use.
Pic of box, box in the bed, and box in the rear seat area. Removed the seat bottoms, and will be removing the seat backs.
But you can get some idea of how it will fit.
For me, my plans are to remove rear seats, buy a seat delete panel and trim piece, and secure the box to the 2 removable cubby covers. Make a removable lid so I can use it for storage, and to secure our doggie seats too.
Be taking some photos as I go along.

I haven't got my truck yet but curious from you guys is there a way to remove that plastic base completely right down to the floor and make a base from that point? I need to make a setup for my dog that i don't have to lift her into the back, Thanks.

I happened to remove one of those storage tubs to retrieve a breaker bar that slipped in under it from the Jack storage area. I can confirm the platform under the Scab rear seats is metal. You can see the edge of it under the carpet in the second photo below.

The seating area only looks odd because I did a rear seat delete.

From your pics and comparing the ones above if i remove the plastic bins the floor is tubbed, so it seems i cant get lower than the tubbed recess because it is part of the steel floor, i was thinking the plastic bin was laid out on a flat steel floor but it's apparent it's reverse as to what i was thinking/hoping.
