So my ESP warranty expires in July and even though my transmission has had very few neutral out/neutral flare shifts it does downshift harshly when coming to a stop.
Last week I called the dealer where I purchased it to get an appointment and they said the transmission shop was busy until May 5th so I brought it in yesterday. Service advisor wrote all my symptoms down but said they would have to do the KAM reset first. I asked if they could go straight to the pressure check but she wouldn't commit. I told her I know it would fail, not really knowing, but from the history of the 10R80 odds were that it would.
Today, I kept checking the Ford Pass app and truck didn't move, then finally this afternoon a 10 mile drive and it was in the shop. Just got a call from the service advisor that the Ranger failed the TSB pressure test and they submitted the info to Ford. Should hear in the morning the next steps.
Honestly, I waited until the ESP warranty was near the end and glad it failed before my ESP ran out.
