If you’re in an area where brine and salt are used on the roads, you might want to think twice about them. I took them off after a couple of years to deal with the rust. I posted this picture in April, 2023.
I finally got around to refurbishing them last winter - grinding, sanding, rust reformer, metal primer, DTM paint, and a bed liner finish.
After one season, here we are again…
They literally get sand-blasted by the mix of salt and sand on our winter roads and the brine they use likely makes things worse.
