Where’s the button for “wife in car”?

Mine only has a wife reminder when it's shut off. Check rear seat for occupant wife comes up on the display every time it's turned off 🙄.

Just make sure it doesn't have the light sensor on them. If they do you can just put a piece of black tape over it.
Tried the night light trick. Worked for about the first five stops and then I think the truck figured out what I was trying to do. Gonna look around for old chargers.

I just drive in Sport mode all the time. It eliminates the ASS. I've also found that using either the heater or AC tends to do the same, and since one or the other is in use about 10 months out of the year, ASS tends to not be an issue.

I lost my A.S.S. the second week of owning my Ranger thanks to Forscan
I unplugged it in the dealer parking lot before I drove it away. The sales rep attempted to hide it from me. He went out and started the truck, and I test drove it... it did not "ASS" on me! I agreed to purchase and went home to do a tad more research planning on picking it up the next day, saw that it had ASS and called them to tell them to disable it or the deal was off. They told me it was impossible to disable.

They never called back, but further research revealed the "great unplug trick". I called them back and told them to clean it up... I'm coming in to purchase it (I wanted a Scab and it was the only one within 150 miles of me).

Closed the deal, raised the hood in front of them, and pulled the plug. Started it up and drove off.

Have not gone back.

When my tranmission began acting up I took it to a dealer much closer to me, and got the "They all do it" speech. Never gone back.

I'll let it sit in the front yard rusting before I visit a Ford dealer again.

I accidentally learned that a tailgate light bar plugged into the trailer plug will disable it since the truck thinks it's towing a trailer.

That's strange because anything that draws a little current will disable it and I've never heard of a nightlight not working. I use one similar to this one and have used the flat style ones too without any problems.

Do you have a picture of which plug it is?

It is the BMS sensor plug on the negative battery terminal. It plugs in much closer to the neg battery terminal than what is pictured in the red square. I just made a simple dummy extension to keep the contacts clean when it is not plugged in... and the one in the picture is NOT plugged in to anything. It is heatshrink over a piece of hose.

Hi Joel. I can't remember what the reasoning was, but I seem to remember something like the truck needing to be turned off and the nightlight working on the second use.
