Had trans fluid drain/fill a year ago at the dealership when I hit 70K, I'm going to install PPE standard depth pan tomorrow and change the filter/gasket/filter seal while I'm down there. I know they are reusable, but who knows when I'll have all that opened up again. Mercon and Lubegard are at the ready

Installing a trans temp sensor also while I'm down there and I think most of the planning effort has been thinking through the wiring for all of that. Going to go thru the passenger side firewall grommet and work my way to the driver's side cabin fuse box at the kick panel. Have an Aeroforce gauge pod to fit into the existing air vent next to the windshield for it. I imagine getting the sensor all set up will take probably 5 times as long as the PPE pan/filter install 😂

AND if I still have energy, I'll work in an oil change since it's been 3000 miles and I want to send a sample in. Wish me luck
I let the truck sit overnight and started pulling fluid at around 11:00 this morning. Took about an hour and a half to pull out 5.5 quarts with the 12v pump, including breaks every 30 minutes. A lot slower than I expected! I decided to follow suit and leisurely take my time to install the new PPE pan and filter. The OE pan only had a tiny bit of residue on the magnet and so I consider that a huge win!

All-in-all I took out 7 quarts and some change. Was super careful all day and so dripping was negligible. Added back 7 quarts + bottle of Lubegard. Before taking for a test drive I shifted through all the gears and let it sit in each one for a while before taking off. I think there was still too much residual trans fluid in the MBS dipstick to get an accurate reading, so I'll focus on that tomorrow. Hit the highway for a bit to hit 10th and headed home. No leaks.

I genuinely don't think it's placebo, but this truck has never shifted so smoothly. Not that it was an issue before, but this is just...next level haha.

No time for the trans temp sensor install! It is plugged into the pan, but I have the harness zip tied to the frame until I have time to work on that next.

Smart cities are coming. Locking you in a area and fining you if you leave it. US just approved adding remote shut off in all new cars beginning in 2028. GEO Fencing, Social Credit Scores, Digital IDs, and Digital currency enable all of it.
When Hunger Games came out years ago, I told my wife this is predictive programming...she called me a conspiracy nut lol...it's called a slow boil, honey...and you're the frog...

That's why people need to resist Digital ID. Sadly too many are willing to put everything on their phones for the "convenience" factor. Then once they chip away at paper money and everything is digital, you're at their mercy.

I will say I do charge everything I can but only for the points and pay it off in full every month. Right now I have just over 500,000 points on my card which the equivalent to $5,000. But I will walk out of any business (and have and let them know why) who refuses to take cash. This happened to us when we were on a restaurant in Pagosa Springs, CO a few years ago. To many are willing to comply. 🤬

You should see looks that I get from Those people that you mentioned there. Dosen't matter if I am at the gas station, grocery store or at one of my frequent grab and go stops. They ask me card or cash. I pay cash, I'm old school, ya'll already know that lol.

You’re preaching to the choir here friend. You made my point even more clear. I’m glad I was born when I was but I worry about my son and grand children and what they are going to see.

The more electronic we go, the more control we lose. My lady friend and I go past William & Mary when we go to the Jamestown Parkway or out to Jamestown Island to walk the big girl and probably nine out of ten of the students got their faces stuck to their phones and will walk right out in front of you.
On a happier note, this is the big girl on the river bank, her happy place.

I helped my friend adopt her from an abuse case and is so very sweet. She just turned 8 and we’ve heard life expectancies are fro 8 to 14 so we just enjoy every single day with her. We get asked all the time if she is a lab or a Weimaraner.
I ask them when they have ever seen a lab with giraffe legs?

Can put a bow on my transmission project--finally finished the install of my MaxTow trans temp gauge inside of an AeroForce gauge pod. Routed the wire from the transmission to the driver's side vent by going thru the passenger side firewall grommet. The 9ft of wire provided was just barely enough to make it. A few more inches away and I would have had to figure something else out. Ended up going with a couple Micro3 fuse taps in the BCM to power and it's good to go!

Which fuses did you tap? And were they switched?

The gauge needed both a constant power and a switched power source, so I used a Micro3 add-a-circuit to Fuses 21 & 22 for my switched power, and another to Fuses 8 & 9 for my constant power. There was an additional and optional orange wire to tap into a headlight-switched power source that would dim the gauge when the headlights turn on, but I didn't see a viable source for that in the BCM and so I did not connect that wire.
