Literally, I'm thinking of buying a '25 Ranger (FX4) tomorrow. I've owned plenty of Fords prior. I know this is the Internet, so plenty of opinions, (which is good). I'm "gifting" my Son my 2018 F150 4x4, (he'll make some small cash payments. Nothing is "free") :like:. Wifey-pooh drives our 24 Braptor.

I'm looking at 2025 Ranger XLT, with FX4 package. It'll be my daily driver, plus when I go out on the weekends for plinking (in the off road trails)

TIA,
-Jav

My soon to be former F150 is a regular CAB (4x4). So my Wife and I are wanting something a little more than the regular CAB 2 door. Especially with grand kids. The Braptor is for her and I to have fun, (especially on the weekends).

Interested in the Ranger feedback, hence why I'm here....

This forum is for the 2019-2023 Ranger (aka 5th gen). You may receive better feedback/advice on the 6g forum.

But I dig the look of the new gen and I've had great luck with my 5g so I say go for it.
Oh sh**, my bad.... sorry!

Don't be.
You wanted opinions and there are a gracious plenty of them here.

I myself dont mind the look of the 6G Ranger, and it seems the higher the model year, the fewer complaints we are seeing on here.

But yeah, the 6G forum might give you better specific feedback.

Good luck!

I had several (8) F150's for my business over the years and they were great trucks and served their purpose at the time. The Ranger IMHO is the perfect size truck and is great for going off road and also daily driving. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you end up getting one and come back and let us know if you do. Even though this is the 5G forum you'll have a lot more fun here. lol

I will buddy! I'm swinging by the dealership tomorrow morning. I'll keep all posted. Literally, I want a Ranger with the FX4 package. Nothing more, nothing less... :like:

I like the new look of the 6G Ranger, but I'm very happy with my high mileage R5G. Good luck brother!

You are on the right track based on my experience with a 22 XLT FX4 owned since new. Except it's a Supercab with the 6 ft box. No longer offered by Ford, so I'll be keeping this one for years to come. And with no mechanical issues up to now, I'm ok with that.

SuperCab for the win!

Do what you wish. Don't get me wrong I do like the body a little bit better with the 6G, but me personally I actually like the Nissan platforms a little bit better. Yes I do miss my 2019 Ranger that I had especially with the power and fuel economy it had. That's it for me Nissan Frontier just feels more right to me.

Moral of the short story I just mentioned, get what feels right to you.
