20’ Ranger, Bilstein 6112s front and rear. Icon leaf pack in rear. Rear lift equates to about 5-6”, front seems to not have lifted barely at all. Maybe 2” at the most. I’m looking to run 285/70/17s and eventually 35s. I was curious as to what setup people are running up front to clear 33-35s. Im currently running 265s and Bronco 17x7.5” wheels which I want to keep. Included a picture with the old 255s to show how close they are up front with the current shocks. (Rear pack hadnt been put in yet.) I’m thinking something along the lines of 3” or 3.5” up front. I was thinking the icon 3.5” coilovers. Let me see some pics of minimum 3” up front and 33-35s w/ no rub.

I run BP-51s all around with 1/2” strut spacers on the front. They give an extra 1” (magic).

I run 285/75r17 (34”) tires and o have to room for 35” tires.

fyi- 285 is only the first part of the size. What’s the full size you’re looking to run?

I’d like to just be able to get 285/70/17s on it first and see if those rub. The last ones I had on did rub. Then I’d eventually like to get 35s but I’ll need different shocks before then. The 6112s don’t provide nearly enough lift in the front

if you want 35s you’ll need the strut spacers. They go right on top of the 6112s. They should provide plenty of lift. Where are you rubbing? You’ll also need to deal with the intrusion beams and waffle boxes.

Both the intrusion beams and waffle boxes have been removed. I rubbed at full lock into the frame with the previous 285s. When I put those 285s on, I had 16x8” nomad wheels. I haven’t tried 285s with these 17” Bronco wheels yet. Here’s a picture of the previous wheels with 285s ( truck was lifted up with jacks )

With the crash bars and crush blocks gone, you certainly have options. I think I recall seeing 35s on here but I’m pretty sure it had a 6” lift.

Depending on how wide your 33s or 35s will be, would you not need wider wheels than the 17 x 7.5” Bronco set you mentioned?

Do you know what the offset of your wheels are? I have a 3.5” lift, 1.5” blocks in the rear. I’m running 255/80/17 (33s) with crash bars removed, 12mm offset. My wheels stick out about 2” further than stock. I think width is the bigger issue, not diameter. With my current setup, I could run 34s without rubbing but 285 is a pretty wide tire. I think you’d need to know the offset of your wheel to really know if width or height is going to be your limiting factor.

Look into a mid travel or long travel kit. You start going that high with our tiny control arms you won’t like the ride quality. But then it gets expensive. 33s would be ideal unless you really need the ground clearance.

I have ran 46s before so I am not anti lift at all lol.

I would hope not. I plan to keep these wheels. The good news is I like a skinnier tire. I wouldn’t want to go over 12.5 wide and I’d prefer 11.5 or even 10.5

Offset is 55mm

It’s mainly the wheel well gap or lack there of in the front that bothers me. I have a 1976 F250 with plenty of gap and that’s the way I like my rigs. I don’t like stuffed. I’m not against 33s at all

I’m clearing 34.5’s upfront (315/70r17.. 17x8.5 wheels -38 offset)
Bds 6” lift kit.. Fox 2.5 extended coilovers.
Crash bars removed, waffle box removed,
And slight trimming in the inside of the fender flare

Very nice, I guess I’ll have to decide if I want to dump that kinda cash in it or not
