Just wondering if there's a tune that noticeably raises MPG. 90 % of the time I'm in town and get 19mpg, my F150 I traded got between 13.5 and 14.5 in town and 17.5 to 18 highway MPG. Coming to Deer camp I have a few hills that uses a bit more gas but my best short trip MPG using the dash pc has been 22.5mpg. I need to make the trip using fuel ups and mileage to verify

Even with my 2.5" level and larger tires I'm still averaging 22.6 mpg's with 35% highway and 65% city driving. I only have 2400 miles now but I do notice a slight increase in mpg's as it breaks in. My Tacoma had 25,000 miles on it when I trade it in and the best mpg's for the same driving were 22.5 so I'm happy with my gas milage.

That's the truth! They get millions from these class action law suits while the consumer usually get a few pennies on the dollar.

Actually makes a lot of sense to me. I’m not even close to 20/24 at just under 1000 miles so far and have been wondering what I am doing wrong. I drive about 60% highway and have not been able to get better than 19mpg. Just added my tonneau so that may help a bit, but have really been wondering what the deal was.

Good find!
I've got just over 8000 miles on my truck now and one thing I can tell you for sure - this engine CAN get decent mileage, but you have to keep it out of boost. If you put your foot in it too much, the mileage will go down quickly. I've learned to drive it easier and am consistently getting about 21MPG on a combination of city/highway driving. I'm pretty happy with that. It has gone down a bit now that the winter fuels are out, but it is still doing pretty well, with the occasional heavy foot.

My 2005 Ranger seemed to get the same mileage no matter how I drove it. That is definitely not the case with this engine.

My Ranger was always between 22.1 and 24.1 but since I put aggressive snow tires on my last to reading where 18.6 and 19.7. Really not surprised and not disappointed at all.

I'll have mine checked when I take it in for its first oil change. The only issue is city driving, hwy is fine. Fairly light footed. Either way I'm not concerned and decided that I will drive it normally for enjoyment and not try to micro manage the gas peddle.

That's what you're paying for gas? Its $2.50 here in the expensive NE.
It's California. The effing voters approved a higher gas tax again supposedly for improved roadways but the state Government puts everything into a general fund then funds railways, bike paths and other non related projects. Every election is voter approved initiatives and 95% of the time the stupid taxpayers approve every single boondoggle initiative.

At least! It makes it a bit harder not to put my foot into it for sure.... But I LOVE it!

So most of my gas is Costco purchased. That means about another $1.25-$1.50 per gal in taxes in CA. This impacts the mid class, businesses and lower income most yet they continue to vote more taxes. It's crazy.

BTW...son is SS, I was ASW.

Check my mileage again today and it has went up again from 19.7 to 21.7 on aggressive snow tires I'm truly amazed.
