How many companies do you think manufacture transmissions that fit our Rangers, or F150?

LOL, every time you get in a vehicle can be life threatening.

"on my Ranger I have experienced a complete loss of power to the ground when accelerating from a stop."

That can be any of 100 things causing loss of power, not necessarily a trans problem.

Let me take a guess. Oversized tires? By oversized tires, I mean non-stock.
I'm on stock tires but great guess. You seem like a pretty smart guy.

Not that smart. I just remember Jeeps in the past having a severe wobble AFTER someone put a lift and larger/wider tires. But that may have also had something to do with the short wheelbase of the older Jeep Wranglers.

Probably $25.00 with inflation! :curse:

Sadly, Class action suits only benefit the lawyers. I think it's better to file individually or a small group like these two did.
Years ago I was part of a class action against ebay and I got a check in the mail for .63 cents! yes you read that right sixty three cents! I still have it cause its not worth cashing LOL

I agree with this but imagine if Ford actually fixed the problem when you took your truck to a dealership. No more need for a vocal minority, just satisfied customers who had $hit happen and got it resolved. The lack of resolution from Ford is what leads someone who paid $50K on something that doesn't work right move to the legal system.
Depends on the problem. I am pretty sure they will replace your blown transmission if under warranty. But taking it in for hard shifts may not get much attention. Almost like taking it in for low MPG of 19-20.

You continue to impress me.

I had a 2018 F150, 2020 Mustang GT, and have my 2020 Ranger. All 10 speeds, no issues. Therefore, my anecdotal evidence renders this lawsuit false.../s

My hope or wish coming out of the class action would be to pressure Ford to either fix or replace them and make that the answer for a customer so the dealer can’t refuse .
The $25 or $100 is pretty worthless if Ford can skate fixing them.

Yeah, but wouldn't call this an issue.
Two questions. 1) Why do so many who HATE Ford own one of their products? I wouldn't own a VW, BMW, or a Fiat.
2)Does anyone here remember when any big 3 transmission getting past 80,000 miles was a minor miracle? You Know, the 50's 60's and 70's?
I do. That was half a century ago. Things should have improved by now.

Hello all, new to the Ranger club here (just picked up a 2023). This seems to be an issue that is particularly hit or miss, am I correct in this observation? If I am correct it's no wonder that Ford is dealing with it case by case. I remember just how many people it took for the 5th Gen Outback battery issue to become a "class action" at more than the state level. The Subie case was the US District Court for New Jersey.

So if Ford plays "wack a mole" dealing with the occasional case that comes up, they keep the number of potential class members below a certain threshold.

There's usually a lawyer or two willing to do this and get paid later. I don't know if that's the answer or if it'll even help. It may just bring enough attention (Ford Authority is now coving it) to Ford to actually do something about it. ?‍♂
These are Tort lawsuits, I believe that is the correct term. The lawyers get paid if they win from funds from the award amount. Plaintiff’s don’t to pay anything.

Yes. LOL.

There have been 330,915 rangers sold since 2019...the percentage of issues to units sold is still small. We all have a tendency to forget that sometimes $shit just happens. Everything can break....it's mechanical. Just sucks when it happens to you/us.
Very true, I worked in aerospace manufacturing for 37 years and no matter how good the design you’ll get a percentage of lemons. But, I have also seen tear down of the 10R80 and Ford did cheap out in areas, probably because of cost. The tranny can be improved. Even Toyota isn’t immune from these issues.

And plaintiffs get very little in return.
