My prediction.
Ford with settle, pay a fine and a few dollars to Ranger buyers.

mpg estimate seems pretty accurate to me
Me too.

I think that lawsuit is just a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers looking to make some money off the potential mistake Ford voluntarily admitted a while back. It appears as though Ford is trying to do the right thing.

I'm getting exactly what I expected when I bought my Ranger. However, if Ford wants to goodwill a couple dollars to me, I won't say no.

My concern is that they'll want to update software or something to "meet" advertised mpg which will lower hp. I'm fine with what I have thank you very much.

I don't think a detune of the engine operation parameters would be warranted. Just a change in the fuel use algorithm.

We shall see love the truck either way, but some extra money to do some things on it would be nice.

I will predict if there is any money to be paid out, the vast majority of it will go to the lawyers who are bringing the class action suit. That is typically the case. The people who were "harmed" usually get a pittance - the lawyers take most of it.

Assuming you are correct and Ford settles, it will be a few dollars to lawyers, and few (if any) pennies to Ranger buyers.

Sorry to be cynical about this, but I've been a class member of two class action lawsuits that resulted in payouts. In one I got ~10% of the determined damages. In the other, I got zero of the $120 million paid by the company.
