Sadly the 2.7 is only available 4x4. I tow a lot so every pound counts and i got the 4x2.
2.3 liter. But all rangers are still rated at 7500.
What i would give for a heavy duty rabger. The f150 are just too big.
I feel that. Maybe one day?.. 7500 is decent max for the little ranger though I don’t really get up to it… just shy of 6500 is the most I’ve ever pulled with the Ranger.
Glad to hear you’re digging the new rig… I am a little jealous of one thing the 6G has (and this time I’m not talking about the Ranger Raptor ?.)…. It’s the revamped cup holder and shifter situation in between the front seats… just seems more made for humans and not for T-Rex arms…. The way you have to bend your arm up just to get something out of the cup holder drives me nuts?

Sometimes it's the littlest of things that make big differences in how we enjoy stuff.

My opinion would be no. Your just extending your loan by another 4-7 years. For no real net gain. You have been paying for your current truck for roughly 4 years. If you get another loan for the same monthly payment, you basically flushed the last 4 years of payments down the toilet.

I hate car payments and I prefer to not have them. Just think, you could be truck payment free in a year or two and have a solid payed off ranger with a newer transmission.

The question you have to ask yourself is, do you want the newest and nicest truck at all times? Or are you good with an older high mileage vehicle? I am a 250k miles or more kind of truck owner, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Plus I am a cheap bastard. But I have nice things, just like keeping things long term to get my money worth.

The 6g has a lighter presumably weaker 10r60. I would not trust it honestly. Plus it has more interconnected electrical nonsense that makes it harder to diagnose and keep long term. Hell our 5g is an electrical nightmare and I consider myself a techie. Just my $0.05 here.

I find my self in a situation where I can trade my 2019 Ranger XLT (with some nice add-ons) for a 2025 Ranger Lariat for roughly the same payment. Obviously I would be extending out my payment though.

I love my 2019. BUT, my 2 big concerns are the Transmission and the HVAC gear box issue. I have already had the transmission rebuilt at 30k miles, but I feel like it is starting to do the same things again.

Are those 2 issues fixed on the 2025? Are there any other well know issues with the 2025 that I should know (I understand that it hasn't been out that long!!).

Anything else I should consider?
Guess what your still in that box the transmission problem is not fixed the Hvac is not either although the 2025 has som better options it's not any more reliable.

It’s a true statement.. silver lining for me though is now the cup holder is just full of quarters (like a piggybank.)…. And my coffee cup doesn’t fit anyway.. ? also eating and drinking in the truck is minimal.

Eating a breakfast bar in my truck ended up costing me hundreds of dollars... ?

Told you that you'd like the V6 ?

Let us know your MPG comparisons after you've put some miles on it.

Great looking truck!

The 2.7 is really nice. I'm not really into tunes, etc, so not going to do that. The biggest immediate needs are a tonneau cover and brake controller. I ordered the same cover I had on my 2019 and a curt echo controller. I had a redarc controller before, but for my small hiker trailer, I think the echo will be fine.
