I think the Maverick is a great looking car with a large open trunk. But I took one out and even though it was the lariat FX4 the interior was so cheap looking a felt cheap as well. And let’s face it our rangers aren’t the best either. But that maverick felt and looked awful. Same with the new Escspes Ti with the the extra options. Cheeeeeeap!
My 2 cents.
I agree, the interior of the Maverick looks very cheap. The plastic appears to scratch pretty easily too based on some of the interiors of used ones I've seen.
The 5G Ranger's interior is a bit dated looking, but the quality seems to be much better than the Maverick.

I finally got to check out a Maverick in person two weeks ago while getting the oil changed on my Ranger.

The Maverick interior reminds me of the EcoSport and older Escapes and yo can tell it is a budget friendly design (cheap). I will say that the Maverick interior had plenty of room though. There is actually more leg room front and back in the Maverick compared to the Ranger.

The deal killer for me is that I would have to get the Maverick Lariat with the Lariat Luxury package just to get the same options that my Ranger XLT has. For those of us that like Sirius/XM, the only way to get it is with the Lariat Luxury package, according to Ford's website.
