Installed the Mishimoto Cold Air Intake today. There was a step that I am not sure if the instructions are wrong or it is different than factory. Picture below shows the insert comes from the inside instead of the outside as instructed

Mishimoto instructions show the metal insert for the rubber bushing being on the outside instead of the inside of the box. I did not follow the instructions to not have metal on metal as well. I can change it if I am wrong but seems fine.

Since I remove the Decked, I needed to secure my compressor. Its screwed to a piece of 3/4 plywood that's cut to shape. I will grab some bolts, as I misplaced the ones I had. Then the plywood will be secured down. the compressor has an air line run up to my SmartCap bin, where my hose hookup is now mounted.

Next plan is a fridge slide to mount my fridge. Then, I will get another piece of plywood to mount vertically to protect the fridge/compressor from items in the bed.

I will also be ordering a 1.5 gallon air tank to fill from the compressor. That should make my air ups quicker. The buildout continues.

My 2020 Lariat had a variety of small dings all around from the previous owner and one decent dent at the leading edge of the rear passenger side wheel opening that was inflicted on the dealer lot before I bought it.

Earlier this week, I had PDR done by a local body shop. After that, I handed it off to my favorite detailer, who spent about a day and a half on the paint, including applying a 5-year ceramic coating. Here's the result:

Oooooooo shiny ?…. Moderate to mild jealousy as I look at my dusty Ranger after the 560 miles I just put on over the weekend ?

Today is the 6 year anniversary for the Ranger. I celebrated with a detail and wax job. I still love this truck. I had the HVAC box replaced and the Transmission TSB done all under warranty. Other than those 2 things, the Ranger has been a very good truck. I now have 25,075 miles on it and plan to keep it. That works out to 4,166 miles per year. Since I'm retired I don't put on the miles anymore. So, many more miles of trouble free motoring.

Today, the Demon Stain was expunged!

IMG_3803.jpeg

Naked and afraid...

IMG_3805.jpeg

The side airbag is held on my 2 10mm nuts. The bag itself fits into a sleeve on the seat cover.

IMG_3804.jpeg

And lookie here. The dealer installed "fix" for the clunking seat TSB.

IMG_3806.jpeg

I encountered this issue on the passenger seat as well. The lower seat cushion leather was too long to attach to the factory clip. So I improvised with the heavy duty 120lb zip ties. I rolled the plastic clip into the excess leather and then zip tied it into place on the seat. Snug and fits perfect.

IMG_3808.jpeg

IMG_3812.jpeg

? Whoooooaaa, we're halfway there...?

IMG_3807.jpeg

And the expensive stain remover worked! The stain is gone!

IMG_3817.jpeg

The seat feels awesome. This leather feels much better, to me anyway, than the factory leather in the ZR2 or Ranger Lariat I drove recently.

Next up is the side panels, then steaming out the remaining wrinkles.

It's been quite the project, but very worth it.

Finally installed the PPE deep transmission pan yesterday. Went good except the two corner screws behind the frame spacers were a pain. Had to calibate my 1/4" ratchet to torque them down. My Torque wrench wouldn't fit on them. I pumped out 4 quarts and had another 2 left in the pan and filter. Put in 7-1/2 fresh ULV and a bottle of Lube Guard. Got it back up to just below 5 at 175 degrees. Need to get it out and heated all the way up to check the final level.
Kind of early to tell, but it seems quieter and smoother. Mine has been behaving itself, so this was more preventive maintenance than necessary. I has 45K on it and I do tow a 4K TT during the summer. Maybe the aluminum pan deadening the sound some.

It was my one small concession to vanity. Only I get to see it when I change the oil.

I updated my tune from Revolution Automotive. The 1st tune was great but a few of the shifts in the lower gears were too aggressive for my kidneys. Revolution sent me a new tune that smoothed out the shifting and DAMN !!! I haven't timed my 0-60 yet but I'm almost certain it's faster now.

UPDATE:
After 53 miles of babying it,,, a '24 Mustang GT rolled up on me at a light. I didn't pay much attention until he started revving up (when we could see the light was about to change). Sure enough, he lit up his tires and took off. I rolled out somewhat gently to 10 mph and then nailed it. I stayed on his door handle all the way to 100 mph when we both backed off. His exhaust was by my ear the whole way. He was pushing it in the higher RPMs and could not gain ground. He looked shocked at the next stop. I'm liking the new transmission shifting a lot. I'm pretty certain the truck is faster now than it was when I timed it in December.

Thanks #RevolutionAutomotive

If there is another tuner that could get more from a 2.3L,,, I would be shocked. I highly recommend the Revolution Automotive tune if you're in the market.

Does anyone have experience with this style of wheel spacer?

I've never personally ran spacers, but a 0.5" spacer would translate to a considerable number of threads lost.
If you go that route, make sure to pick up some extended studs to go with, so your wheel and tires won't fall off driving down the road or trail.
