While the new ranger raptor has a much nicer interior, without a tune it was a disappointing test drive. I have an Unleashed tune, cvf intercooler, charge pipes and downpipe, Gibson dual exhaust and my little 2.3 runs better than the stock ranger raptor. And at $60k plus a $5k adm. It wasn't worth it to me. So I upgraded to roush wheels and 33 in tires and very happy with the 22xlt. If the tranny shits I'll replace it. As a retired tech one thing is for sure, EVERY VEHICLE BREAKS!
Have you had your truck dynoed? What is she putting to the wheels?

I bought a 2020 ranger in January 21. Then i bough a 22 ranger in sept 22. Then i bought a 24 ranger in feb 25.
The 24 ranger to me feels so much better! I am keeping this truck for sure! I got the 2.3. I wanted the 2.7 but it is only in 4x4. Wanted a 4x2. I have the advanced tow package,(brake controller), and an elocker. I use it for towing and work when needed.
Between the 5g and 6g, big difference! Wider more stable ride, still lots of power, roomier on the i side, dash and trailer profiles are so useful, back up a trailer but i dont trust it, i can back up trailers myself, so much of a better truck imo
Door handles infotainment guage cluster bed, bed lights, ride, so...i would recomend a 6g. This truck, for me definitely a keeper. Transmission even shifts smoother and it comes with more tunes
Normal, eco, sport, towand wet/slippery. Wet shifts like butter, so smooth. So just depends what you want to do i guess. I love the 6g and keeping it. Would love the 2.7, but do not want a 4x4. Good luck with your choice,

2024 xlt, 4x2, advance tow, elocker

This might be a crazier proposition. I have already made my decision but here's the scenario.

Trade in 2021 Tremor Lariat with 29K miles: $32,750
Purchase 2025 Ranger XL 4x4 with locker for $36,822. I really like the Marsh Gray (controversial, I know)
After tax, title, license - the out the door cost difference would be $8652.99 (no tax advantage to trade-in in CA).

This would mean "downgrading" from all the Lariat niceties - which if I'm honest I don't really need or use. but the interior of the XL does seem pretty plasticky! but I do get the new styling, which is growing on me, and i get the new 10r60 which should be more durable.

What would you do? You can vote with emogis.

Split the difference, throw in another 3K and get the XLT.

My bias is the 5G looks better than the 6G so I’d say nah.. unless trading towards the RR?.
But if you like the looks of the 6G more, however probably not for the lower trim..
Unless you don’t mind the plastic and cloth seats…
Might be worth it to just get the lariat for the nicer interior even if you don’t use all the special electrical features.. just my thoughts.
Only you can decide what’s best for you.

Well, I was ready to pull the trigger and told the dealership that I didn't have all day, but they said 3 hours would be plenty of time. After 3 days of back and forth with the dealer, we agreed on a price for the trade and set an appointment. Drove an hour there and surprise, the truck was in a distribution lot 2 hours away and I had to sign a contract before they'd bring it down.

Every 5 or 10 years when I'm ready to buy a new car, I forget what a bad experience it is. So, I'm keeping the Tremor and I'm fine with that decision. Probably makes sense to wait a few years till the depreciation curve flattens out, anyway.

That’s a terrible way to do business and a great way to run off potential buyers ?.

Be sure to detail your experience in a Google review online.

Ford looks at those and you can be sure the dealer does too.

You may prevent them from doing this to someone else.
