I'm not a parts man, I just install the parts. It is my understanding from our parts department that Ford Performance parts aren't ordered through normal Ford parts channels, so any dealership can get it but it passes through enough hands that the dealers cost is already close to if not above msrp. Even with my employee discount it's cheaper for me to order Ford Performance Parts online than it is to get it through work.

Guys, I got the Ford-branded Fox leveling kit installed yesterday afternoon. Based solely on the ride home from the dealer and a brief shopping trip for groceries afterward, I am very happy with the improved angles, higher cabin, better looks overall (the two-inch level leaves a slight forward rake, which I like), and, best of all, the improved ride, with much less bouncing and banging. You still feel the road, but it does not beat you up like it did before!

That looks great! Happy to hear that you are pleased with it. I looked into it yesterday but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I may wait until next spring and order south of the border and pick it up, looks like I’d save about $500 over the Canadian price.

^ This is 100% true. The mark-up on actual Ford branded accessories isn't great in the first place but like you said these aren't really Ford accessories anyway so the mark-up is even less.

Guys, thanks for pointing this out, but don't they still stand to profit from the installation fees for labor, etc., which in the case of suspension kits and such must still be substantial?

Looks nice, and I'm glad that it rides nice! Now you'll have to re-aim your headlights, and get bigger tires?

Patrick, thanks! We already readjusted the headlights (downward). If we did not get it right, I am sure that oncoming drivers will let me know come Monday on the daily drive to work! As for tires, I plan to put 10,000-20,000 more miles on the stock Hankook ATM tires before trading up.

Oh boy... YES, the SERVICE department does profit off of labor, definitely. I'm not trying to make excuses for someone not wanting to do his or her job, especially if it's supposedly the "in-house" brand. I think it's just ridiculous to not help someone if it means making slightly less money but there are MANY MANY people in the dealership industry who sadly do think that way. I'm not saying this is the exact instance in your case though. Just what I've observed from being in the industry for many years.

Where has everyone been getting the best deal on theses? I'm hoping to order this month, I don't like how stiff the spacer lift I have now is.

Looks great! But that crooked Fox sticker is giving me major anxiety!

Hey, man, I thought nobody would notice! Fortunately, they give you two stickers, which gives me another shot! LOL!
I kind of like the angle honestly. It's only a couple of degrees off from the side window. The tail makes it a little less obvious. :sunglasses:

I went to my closest "Ford Performance" dealer. Apparently they don't get up charged like regular Ford dealers do. I got my kit for $1250.

How do you know that it's better?
You're just talking about two different tiers of quality. 2.0 is Fox's entry level shock. A small upgrade in control and better ability to resist overheat than stock.

Icon's Stage 2 setup is more expensive for a reason. More travel, larger, nicer pistons, valves, etc. If you're dropping a couple grand (with install) anyways, might as well get something that's going to transform the truck's ride an handling, not just offer a mild improvement.
