Was sitting at a red light on my way home from work. Hit the gas when it turned green and felt the back end of the truck slam. I thought someone may have rear ended me. Instantly started hearing a god awful popping noise and thought for sure my transmission just exploded...

Pulled into a parking lot and found the rear lift blocks had failed. One was gone completely, the other had shifted and was pinched between the axle and leaf spring. The noise I was hearing was the tire scraping the fender.

Never seen lift blocks fail like this before. Thankfully it happened at a light and not while I was going 75 on the freeway! Could’ve ended much worse. I don’t remember where I ordered these lift blocks from, it was either Amazon or EBay.

Anyone have suggestions on a 1.5” rear lift? My truck now has the Carolina squat and I look like frat boy ?

I'm just hoping you don't buy another lift kit from Amazon or eBay ? :p Any of the reputable companies on here or well known/established supplier should work fine.....anything to get rid of "The Squat".

If your new kit doesn't come with them, you might want to budget for new u-bolts as well.

And some locktite.

Definitely not again! Lol the only reason I ordered them through Amazon/eBay was because 1.5 seems to be an elusive size. I researched a bit before buying and could only find 1 or 2 inch blocks. 1.5 gave the truck a slight rake which leveled it nicely with weight in the bed or when towing my boat.

I learned lessons in the past going with cheap parts when it comes to stuff like ball joints and UCA’s but I didn’t think you could possibly screw up manufacturing a lift block… Apparently I was wrong!

Back in the day we had a saying, “Friends don’t let friends use blocks”. While really it was just giving our buddies crap it has a lot of merit. Icon springs sound like a perfect fit for you. Safer too.
Gonna look into

Looking into those. Can’t decide between medium or standard duty springs… Trying to get the closest to OME springs.

Oh wait, I see the icon’s are adjustable. That’s cool, might get a set of those.

Ouch!!

My only guess is either the U-Bolts were not torqued correctly(happens more often then not) or the U-Bolts were reused(they are supposed to be replaced).

Torqued them to 100 foot lbs but did not replace ubolts. Maybe that’s what happened. Wasn’t aware of that…

Yeah, U-Bolts are supposed to be replaced when adding blocks or replacing Leaf Springs. A pain, but what it is.
