Installed the new unit. It was a bit fiddly putting the BLISS in place but all in all pretty straight forward. Looks perfect and the fitment was right on the money.

The stock XLT has LED tail lights. I think you can get the aftermarket light but reuse your Blind spot module from your existing light. Someone on here has done this, I think.

Deductible is $2500.00 on my collision.

Call your insurance company, that's not a "collision" with a vehicle (as far as you know) and most likely was a shopping cart or vandalism caused by a jealous Tacoma owner... same thing happened to mine and it was covered, but I had to call them out on it as they tried to blame me... I was nice but firm...

I'm going to go to the grocery where I think it happened and see if the height and all measures the same as a shopping cart height. Didn't really think of that. Really pops my cork. My truck looks nearly new and then this kind of crap happens. (*&^% Washington drivers. UGH

It had to happen some knucklehead barely hit my Ranger in a parking lot naturally no note or anything. The dent in the rear fender fortunately can be removed without major body work but the tail light is toast lense is cracked in several places. Ford dealer say $1400.00. Is this something that has to be programed to my truck or is it plug and play. I've checked with some online recyclers and they want anywhere from $900.00 and up. Looking on Ebay and Amazon they have some that say a direct match with the wiring and everything. So far with the dent removal and a new tail light I'm looking at $2000.00 give or take. Deductible is $2500.00 on my collision. Has anyone had any luck with the ebay and or Amazon parts. Also are the stock items LED? Thanks for any and all info.

Wow OP. That sucks! I’d be pissed big time.

I’d bet that a bunch of them on eBay were just stolen a day or two prior. Unfortunately.
Reminds me that I need to somehow padlock the tail lights to my truck.

A few weeks ago a guy hit mine but he had commercial insurance
the work was done at Carstar they did a better than new repair and it was $4500 !
good luck with the $1400 quote, you can move the radar unit over so it dont need to be reprogrammed....

Just paid $185 on Amazon for a replacement right taillight. I had to move the electronics unit from the old unit to the new unit, and the entire installation took 10 minutes. The replacement unit was a perfect match, even the casting marks were the same.

I cracked mine last year and I ordered a replacement from Levittown ford. With tax and shipping it was about $1000. Installation is easy, pull the old lense and swap the blind spot monitor over then reinstall it.

If your Bliss is in good condition, just buy the housing from Amazon and transplant the electronics...the Bliss is why it cost $1000+...

The only true question is -Will the Aftermarket Assemblies (internal lighting) cause issues on the circuit and will they hold up for longevity as compared to the OEM?

Referencing: The Headlight Issues with Aftermarkets - Will these be the same?
Not enough postings (data) to know for these - Yet, I do recall someone having a fitment issue with them.

Last summer I bumped mine with a kayak. I couldn't believe it when I heard the crack, it didn't take much. I ran a bead of super glue along the 3" crack. So far, no water, no issues. I was lucky.
