I have sold my Ranger and am leaving the group. It's been FUN the past couple of years tinkering with the different mods on the Ranger. Hopefully the new owner will enjoy the truck as much as I did. I have already bought a replacement, Yes I went all electric.

This has been a great group of people to bounce questions off, collaborate with and get answers from others. Thank You all.

All electric what?

Thought I would keep you guessing.

I had a Cybertruck for a weekend and while it drove very nice, I couldn't get past the ugly. (Tesla wall and charger are because I also own a Tesla Model 3P) and I was charging the truck.

So I bought a Lightning Lariat ($17k in discounts also helped)

The ride is better in the Ford, The performance is about the same (0-60 etc), the Cybertruck has air suspension and much better at speeds (more like a sports car), The Ford is quieter, the Cybertruck has motor whine inside the interior (That my Model 3P doesn't have). They are both quick, but not as fast as my model 3P. They also have simular range (320ish miles). And I still have my old Audi TT to make engine noises and shift through gears. Power is free (SOLAR) so it was a easy choice.

Orginally I thought I would get the CyberBEAST and drop down to just 1 vehicle (The CyberBeast has 3 motors and is faster than my Model 3P) but I don't think I could drive the truck everyday. The standard AWD Cybertruck comes in at $79k

The back end needs to be lowered, or the front raise. I hate the wheels but don't want to kill the range. I love the space it has, the front trunk, the rear legroom for passengers.

You may be shocked by all the resistance you encounter in the current EV forum :p

Maybe shocked today but the last time I looked the oil reserves in the world will only last another 60 yrs at present consumption. We need to get used to non fossil solutions and move on to bigger and better things.

I am just not seeing what folks see in the Cyber Truck but they are definitely popular. Do they only come in silver? I have seen other colors but they are usually being used as banners so have mods done.

I think they also come in "Ash", "Smoke", "Char", and "BBQ Black"

They're bare 301 stainless steel. No clear or coating of any kind. So, you'll get silver and like it. Or wrap it and ruin the stainless.

I think that's more oil than we had left in the seventies. Chances are slim to none that I'll be alive when the oil runs out. All I'll have to worry about is the money to "fix" it because you know a tax will fix everything.

Sorry to see a SCAB owner go. They are becoming a rarity.

I've driven the lightning (briefly) and the Cybertruck (for a week) and I understand why you got the Lightning - much more "normal."

But the Cybertruck really blew me away. It's a revolutionary vehicle - controversial yes - but that's because it really is revolutionary. It's not what I need right now and the real world range on all these electric trucks suck, but the vehicle itself is really incredible. Personally, the only EV i would choose is Tesla because of autopilot and charging infrastructure, but you have a Model 3 so you're aware of those advantages. Having solar charging can start to make the lightning make sense I guess.

But I do think that dismissing the Cybertruck with a wave of a hand as "ugly" really is unfortunate. After spending a week with it, I barely scratched the surface on how cool it is - 17 inches of ground clearance and 4 wheel fly by wire steering were just 2 things I didn't expect that really blew my mind.

Wow, I had no idea. Interesting but doesn't stainless steel rust after a few years in the weather? I know it is not a prone to rust as regular steel, but I thought they both rusted eventually?
