It's time to move on. No regrets, but I need to move in a different direction. If I buy another truck at all, it will need to have a snow plow. For the next 12 months, I'll be driving a 2010 Toyota Prius, which will then be handed-down to my daughter as her first car. I have some confidence that I will be able to choose a fully-electric vehicle as my next ride.

Purchase 07/17/2020. $44,316
Accessories $1,144
Total $45,460

Sale 02/08/2022 $36,500

18 months, 3 weeks non-operating cost $8,960
Approx. 471/month.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and greatly appreciate willingness of everyone to share their knowledge and experiences.

I left the tailgate damper on the truck for the next owner.

Am I missing something on the math?
You're down $8,960 over 19 months = $471/month.

I guess my math is much worse than I thought. Probably from the damper. I’ll fix my post.

I think after driving the Prius for a year, he'd be willing to pay $1000 a month to have his Ranger back.

Best of luck to you Mike!

Maybe an all electric Ranger will be on the horizon for you in a year.

Plowing in a Lightning or any other electric truck…..
Not if it is for commercial plow out for 12-15 hours after a bug dumping.

Needing a snow plow and settling for a Prius. Didn't see that coming.
No need, but could use. I have a nice Honda snowblower, but a plow would be handy when the weather is really bad. My neighbor found a 1990s Jeep Cherokee with plow for $4k. If I see something like that, I’ll probably buy it. What I don’t want is an F250 as a daily driver.
