I have a Ford Ranger Gen 3 with Adoative Cruise Control with a front camera and Sync 4. I am trying to make changes on Forscan to install Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) with Speed Sign Recognition. I did have it working but it only lasted for approx. 2mins and then came up stating its not available. I turned off the vehicle and it worked again but only for approx. 2 mins. What changes am I missing?

Hey Simon, someone had a similar issue while setting up something else in Forscan. They were able to “enable” it in Forscan but it was one of those things where you also had to turn it on or select it using the settings menu in the infotainment screen or the steering wheel buttons.

I reckon it’s worth checking your cruise control options in settings.

I have rechecked everything and a couple of DTC codes were present. I reset the DTC and read them again none were present. Took it for a drive and all worked until it read a lower speed sign and the Speed Sign Recognition started braking to that lower speed. So I pulled over and started Forscan again to check DTC codes and one was present. Hooe someone can help.

Just a question, does your adaptive cruise have start/stop capability? Ours in NA does not, it drops out below a certain speed. What was the lower speeds that it tried to brake down to, was it below the speed that it drops out?

I was doing 88km and it picked up a 50km sign to drop down to 58km(8km tolerance set) it dropped out immediately. What is the Stop Start capability? I have seen it in Forscan but unsure

I am pretty sure thats how Intelligent ACC works. My wife’s explorer does it too. I turn it off for road trips when I drive. Dont slow me down, I want to careen into a wall a 75 mph.

not really, but it makes predictive defensive driving all but impossible. Best driving aid is between your ears.

What modules did you (ADD) and what (CHANGES) have you made with Forscan so far?
Since we have Sync 3 and do not have the (Intelligent Cruise) I may be able to help, but need more info on what you are doing and what changes have been made so far.
As you are missing a Setting and the APIM is not communicating with the IPMA so I suspect there is a setting in either module that needs addressed to match what you are adding.
So, it would help to know what you have changed so far, to find the missing link.

Stop/start cruise capability will allow you to maintain a distance behind another vehicle all the way down to a stop, such as a signal light and start out again without any action when the light changes and the vehicle ahead starts moving again. Our Rangers cruise control here drops out at I think at around 35 mph. My wifes Mazda has stop/start and I can follow a car through town and never touch the throttle.

I am trying to add Intelligent Adpative Cruise Control so when travelling long distance on the Highway at say 104km and I approach a samll town and the speed sign says 80km my Ranger will adjust to 84km (tolerence set at +4km)

Adaptative Cruise in my 21 doesn't cut out until about 10-12MPH. Slow enough that I have to get back up to 20MPH to reenable Cruise.

Is it possible to lower the 10-12 MPH ACC disengagement through Forscan on our 5G NA trucks? Or possibly all the way to stop & go levels?
