Next will be a way to keep a small folding table against the forward bulkhead. Then I'm ready for an emergency tactical picnic on a moments notice.

I wish that I could keep mine that clean. I'm in West Texas and we aren't seeing much rain this year, we belong to a Dirt Bike club and our lease requires driving about 12 miles of dirt road to get to our gate. I have a bed cover and have tried to seal the tail gate but nothing keeps out the dust!

I'm not sure about the Ranger, but my old Tacoma bed had multiple sheet metal openings that were basically hidden under the rails and behind panels etc. You could put your han up under the bed rail an litterally drop a string down through a gap, down past the fender well. Dust came in no matter what!

I have a feeling the Ranger bed is not a sealed , monocoque structure either.

I use these to keep things in place. They work really well with the BedRug.

Can you share pics of the rest of your drop on cab? I still haven't taken the plunge to add a cover, but like the looks of what you have here. I believe they are pretty heavy and require two people to install and remove?

Most fibreglass toppers are in the 175-200 lb range so, yep, pretty heavy. Despite being made specifically for each truck model, just like fibreglass hoods, some cutting, sanding, trimming, or sanding might be needed to get the best fitment. They also don’t seal the front headboard of our trucks and will leak without some extra foam installed across the top of the headboard.

With the way they now overlap the bed rails for a tight fit, they aren’t as easy to install as older models. I used to R&R the topper on my 2001 Ranger by myself but I’d never attempt it with the newer one I have.

I think you’ll find that pricing usually includes installation - mine did and after seeing what needed to be done, I was happy for it. I’ve read on the forum that some dealers will wire in the third brake light and some will not - it’s a good question to ask if you go this route.

Here’s a picture of @ShapeShifter ’s truck and topper from another thread…

Looks like a Leer - maybe Todd will confirm the make/model.

Holy smokes, sure wish I'd seen these earlier - what a clever idea! Thanks for the link.
