Drove my Ranger to the coin-op car wash and blasted all the road grime and salt off after a couple of weeks of almost daily snow and a 300 km trip a bit north.

Pulled into my garage with water drops frozen to the truck, turned the heat up to 65° F, got Mrs. DukeCanBuildit her lunch, and headed to the garage to get after things with some 303 Graphene Detailer (all out of 404 at the moment ;)) and some Aero Cosmetics Rubber Care - in a t-shirt - in February - in Canada.

Man, I love having a big heated garage again!

Where did you find your camper shell?? I’ve been contemplating getting one for my truck. The only ones I can find are super expensive though. Hesitant to spend that kind of money on something that I can’t quite justify as a “necessary”

I pulled up to my local car wash today and did an immediate about face…everyone in the area had the same idea. The grime will have to stay a little longer.

My gas charged hood struts failed at five years so I bought some $40 replacements off Amazon and slapped them on today.

It’s an ARE CX Classic - basic model without slider front window - was cheap back in 2019 but I’m not sure you’ll find anything cheap nowadays. For me, it was a necessity to keep my tools and other things safe and dry.

Fitment is good - latch still operates smoothly - no cracks - good paint - no complaints from me.

Info please, what are the sizes and specs of that nice lookin‘ setup? Guessing you did a front level? Nice ride!
This is everything I’ve done to the truck so far:

-3.5” RC front lift, 1” rear lift block

-Black horse modular grille guard (didn’t need to relocate sensors)

-Smittybilt X20 gen2 10,000lb winch

-589 Fabrication hidden winch mount (mounts behind bumper and under engine)

-Black Horse roof cross bars

-Maxhual roof basket

-Tonneaupro roll up bed cover

-Allied Expedition bed rack (modified to fit with tonneau cover)

-Side mount swing toolboxes in bed

-Nilight 4” ditch lights, 26” light bar, rear flush mount bumper lights

-Rocktrix 17x9 +12mm offset wheels

-255/80/17 Falken Wildpeak AT/4 tires
(Removed crash bars so tires won’t rub)

Might change rear lift blocks to 1.5” so the truck still sits level with weight in the bed or when towing.

Also probably going to order some high clearance crash bars from readylift, just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

I'd be interested to see how you have the winch cable exit the stock bumper.

Tried it this afternoon and it was even worse. Time to move further out. This area has had insane growth since I got here 9 years ago. Looking at acreage at least a 2 hour drive from any town over 30,000 population. Land is crazy in TN these days!

One of my puddle lights (Amazon LEDs that replaced the factory incandescent on my 2019) went out so I sprung for some fancy a$$Ed '3D Laser' lights.

Compared to 'old' lights- the new ones are hefty(didn't weigh them):

They are pretty clear!

Maybe I'll add this to my tacky light thread.

looks great, RockTrix?

how’d you deal with the crash bar management?
It was actually pretty easy. I knew I wasn’t going to be reusing them so I took a grinder and cut them out. Took maybe 10-15 mins per side. The rear bars required some extra trimming of the felt liner and some of the plastic bracket thing above the crash bar to get the bolts out.

I think installing new high clearance bars will be a pain in the ass but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. In hindsight, I should’ve removed them when I had the bumper taken off to install the winch but I wasn’t even thinking about tires at the time so it didn’t cross my mind.
