A lot negative comments about R6G, I wonder if the dancing banana is over there.

If this is him than yes. I haven't seen too much trolling over on 6G, but there isn't much fun either. I still check here even though I no longer have a 5G because I enjoy the comments. 6G is mostly Raptor talk.

My wife drives a Subaru Outback and I have a 2wd 6G XLT. The Outback will go anywhere I'd ever go, so 2wd is okay. The Ranger can haul more for sure.

Stock, the 6G rides way better than my 5G did and the interior is nicer with the better infotainment. I was looking to get a SuperCrew instead of a SuperCab for my kids, so I waited on the 6G. If I had owned a paid off 5G SuperCrew, I would have held onto it. If you are in the market for a new truck, the 6G is nice. Just be warned that the forum isn't as fun as this one.

OMG, that was just a wild ass guess. It was a glorious day when he got banned from R5G.

I'm not going shopping for a new truck without a scab/6' bed. Or, if they decide to make a scab maverick, which they ain't.

I had an outback. Loved it. If I didn't need a truck I would have an outback.

Finally gave in to the curiosity and test drove a ā€˜24 XLT with the 2.7L.

All in all, seems like it addresses my gripes with my 2019 while somehow also feeling the same. While I’d enjoy a longer bed option, the 2024 certainly felt more stable than the 2019 as it drove. Going through curves it felt confident and the weight of it felt substantial enough to make it feel predictable in some way.

I really expected the 2.7L to be peppier. Especially if there’s a cam phaser risk associated with them then I’d want a performance tradeoff. I didn’t try sport mode tho.

Maybe it’s because it was new, but the ā€˜24 did feel better built. Something about it just felt more solid. Almost the feeling I get in my wife’s 4Runner.

One perk of the 2.7L is it didn’t sound like an angry sewing machine. Just sounded proper!

In the end I told my wife it seemed like my 2019 but 5% better in nearly every way. I’m not sure 5% is enough to make it worth the new loan tho.

odd note: I went to Ranger6g to read up on stuff before going to the dealer. That crew is a bunch of cranky hoes. Everyone seems like they’re itching for a forum fight, and any request for info is met with a rude ā€œGoogle it yourselfā€ response. What a cold, sad place.
is the ranger using the 2.7 eco thats in the f150? if so i have that in my 17 f150 and its a lot quicker then my old 22 ranger could because i dont have the 10r80 thou.

a scab mavrick would have my gf dragging me to a dealer to buy one lol. until then she is looking for an older 4x4 ranger so she can have a small little 4x4!

I upgraded too from a 5g to 6g.

I still drive a 5g for work but my personal vehicle is a 6g.

The LED headlights and the interior is the biggest changes. They are both good with the 6g having the edge for sure.

I just got into a ā€˜20 Ranger and love that body style (to the Max lol)…
The 6G initially hasn't sat well with me aesthetically speaking, but… a lifted leveled RR looks super bueno! …Tough looking truck.
The 6G Ranger can be brought around also IMO. Gotta get rid of the low hanging bumper in front of the front tires… give it some clearance.
Now the electronics is another story, but every modern vehicle made today is full of electronics.
Also…. The latest Ranger, Tacoma and Frontier look quite similar - they musta been some spying going on re design.
We’ll get used to the 6G.

yep, it's the same 2.7L from the f150, tho i believe it is detuned a bit. mated to the 10R60 transmission on this 2024+ ranger.

If I was going to update, I would want the Raptor 3.0 it has to be a beast at 405 HP.

correct. they moved on to the 10R60 in 2024. it seems to be to great effect as many people reviews state how smooth it shifts. on my test drive i felt some of the slop the 10R80 has (but not nearly as noticeable), but it only had 4 miles on it. the transmission was still quite new.
