Mine is getting a new Valve body at 43 000km's (26 000 miles). Reported to the dealer that I was having issues with 4th gear, they pulled the code and did a quick drive and ordered the part.

Service rep was telling me they were seing a lot of transmissions problems with Ranger that tow or offroad and that's almost half of my millage.
Interesting. I tow and offroad but not the bulk of my mileage (16000 mi). But I drive using tow haul pretty much exclusively seeing it drives so much better. Wondering if there’s something to their observations.

The new TSB 24-2101 supercedes TSB 24-2046. I don't know what the difference is though. I'll be taking my 2021 Lariat Tremor to the dealer soon to get them to do the 3rd step on the TSB. This will be the 8th time I've had my truck in for warranty work, with the majority of that being transmission issues. Hopefully it will be repaired/replaced this time. My manufacturer warranty expires in the next 800+ miles, but I have an extended warranty. Just didn't want to go the extended warranty route if I didn't have to. Fingers crossed.

Difference in the TSB’s is wording regarding transmission replacement under the low time in service policy. 24-2046 said 3year/36000 mile for the LTIS replacement consideration. 24-2101 stripped away the 3 year/36000 mile verbo.

Pretty sure they started putting these in the production/warranty replacement transmissions not too long ago. Not sure if any of the 23’s got this though.

Here's hoping it's in my replacement ?

I do think they'll eventually get this right, they've got a beta tester pool in the tens of millions. Just would have been nice for it to have the kinks fixed before it went to market.

It should be, mine was replaced in June and quite confident that it has it. I messaged Flying Wrenches to see if he knew when exactly they started using them in production. He replied that he wasn’t sure but that they just started getting them from Ford parts for repair jobs and that usually doesn’t happen until after production starts using them.

Wow after reading all these posts I guess I've been lucky.
Never had trans issues with any of my 3 Ford Ranger 5Gs.
My latest 2021 is really working well at 36,000 miles and I have to tell you if It does start having issues - I will fix it. I love this truck.

Even with the previous TSB, you should still have the revised drum, I think your issue now was just a new failed part or installation error, on the valve body, I would have to check side by side comparison but the diagnostic procedure looks to be exact same as far as what gets replaced, some of the steps of the maintenance procedure look modified.
As with my truck - build date 8/16/22, I appear to have the new drum part number since this date is a decision point on the fault tree.
No issues with mine with 11,500 on the OD but purchased the extended warranty as a precaution and monitoring for any abnormal symptoms.
So the way I see it all builds or repairs after 8/16/22 will have the new drum installed, I cannot see a repair where they would knowingly install a known defective part especially with the labor intensive installation.
We have the same build date. I saw one of these TSB's come across my feed and noted the date and remembering when I purchased mine. I guess I should be happy my build date is 8/16/22?

That video was posted five months ago, I wonder what the part number to the replacement 'shell' is. I know the current CDF drum was a letter change different from the original.

Ford CDF Part #JR3Z-7J351-B replaced the defective JR3Z-7H351-A origional.

In the Ford listing for the previous model number of this 'reaction shell' I find 'To ensure reliability, purchase Ford part # HL3Z-7B177-D CYLINDER.' pictures I found show a non-anodized silver unit but I presume the treatment is better. Seems like this part is part of the re-design.

Supposedly the anodized outer shell is in the 23 Rangers along with the updated CDF drum. And of course any replacement transmissions produced after that.
