We can only hope he can now never reproduce.

This is a perfect example of Sir Isaac Newton's Third Law of Motion. The explosive in the round exerts the same force in all directions when detonated by the blasting cap. Energy travels in the path of least resistance, so the bullet having smaller mass than the chamber, exits out the open end of the the barrel, and also propels the rifle backward into the dufus' belly with equal force

Kent, I would love to think you're right but unfortunately we're loaded with stupidity now.

Wanna bet, sometimes I see the downside of a small initial gene pool here in Australia and just shake my head. When you work in health you see all kinds of stupid.
I did some stupid stuff in my youth too but it was back in the 1970's and if something bad happened then it was my own stupid fault and I accepted that.
I should have been born later, these days there would always be someone else to blame.

I'm from the same era but we have one thing going for us. There's no video of it. ?Everyone has to video everything they do now and it can/will incriminate you at some point. Of all the dumb, stupid and yes sometime illegal stuff we did there's no record of it anywhere! :whew:

Absolutely true, my sons are so much more conservative than I was at that age.

"Hey guys, there's a lightning storm on, let's get out on the lake, let Mother Nature know we aren't having it!"
"Not bad, but it needs something more..."
"Human pyramid!!"
"Better...."
"Wait, I've got a flag!"

No video but as a plus it is Ranger related!

Driving from LA to SD while on a business trip with coworkers. I was in front passenger seat. We're on the freeway (405?) that is prob 4 lanes wide or more but traffic is light as it is mid afternoon (this was 20+ yrs ago). One lane to our left and up ahead a few hundred yards is a Green Ford Ranger. Suddenly the rear end of the Ranger shoots up into the air a few feet and the driveshaft and a slew of smaller parts come flying out. I actually watched it happen by dumb luck looking the right direction at the right time. I saw the front of the driveshaft drop from the tranny, catch on an expansion joint and vault the a$$ end of the truck up in the air. They actually kept it together pretty well after that and coasted off to the shoulder. That was pretty wild to see in person!

That's not even funny, almost happened to me, about 25 years ago my wife owned one of the first model Kia Sportages, (4x4 model) anyway on one of it's services the service manager "noticed" - well in fact, I had been pointing it out for some time, that it had an oil leak between the transfer case and gearbox, and agreed it was a warranty repair, anyway, booked it in, the Tcase was duly removed and the front seal replaced.
A few weeks later I was driving it and noticed a rattle under the front every time I went over a bump. Crawled under to find that the front tailshaft was hanging on from one bolt at the diff end, and that remaining one, had backed out almost all the way. Not impressed, I tightened that one bolt, took it back to "Aww it would have been OK" And they replaced the lost bolts. Luckily that model had auto locking front hubs and so that shaft wasn't turning all the time.
After a second episode where that dealership tried to charge her for (Adjusting the valves) - it had hydraulic lash adjusters, (when I pointed this out they apologised and reduced the bill) I directed her to never go there again.
